You got what.. 20mil people? That's the size of Guangzhou city. It's just impossible for Taiwan to win against China. Best you can hope for is to maintain the status quo for as long as possible.

I don't think China will start a war if current status quo can be maintained caz like you said, the longer it takes, the better the situation for China. But if DPP keeps trying to push the envelope, eventually China will be forced to invade. No Chinese leader that can survive if he lets Taiwan become independent.
