Thanks. Since my trip coincided with weekend night market, should I avoid those hotels located at the blocked roads? I will be coming back to Hanoi on Sunday evening from halong bay.

My trip is from Friday till Tuesday early morning. Should I take the cruise sat till sun or sun till mon?

$100 per night can get very decent hotel in Hanoi

Try icon 36 hotel

Anybody have old quarter hotel to recommend? Looking below $100 per night for triple room with breakfast. Best if got bacon on breakfast menu. So far found Bella Rosa suite and new vision palace.
Is the street noise really that bad?

I stayed in a quad room at USD35 with breakfast at Hanoi B&B Hotel. A simple and basic hotel with wonderful staff.

They gave us a free room to rest for few hours after returning from Sapa in the early morning before we left for the pick up to Halong bay at 9am.

But I am having difficulties trying to decide for which cruise. And the price range a lot also. Scare pay too little crappy boat. Scare pay too much got scam crappy boat. Seem to depend on luck? The dragon pearl over 200usd each.

Deoending on your budget. I went on Fantasea cruise at ard USD95 if I am not wrong.

Blocked road is only around the Hoan Kiem Lake and the drinking streets area. Usually starting from 5-6pm.

You can also consider Hanoi View 2 hotel

Then again, you would wanna consider whether are you travelling with kids and elders.
Many decent budget hotels need to climb up a flight of stairs.

If you are gonna be bringing big bulky luggages... Consider those hotels which have their check-in on the same level as the drop-off/pickup drive in area.

Hi all, any recommendation for HLB Tour. So many choices with different prices. I’m looking for one below $200 SGD.

Hi all, thanks for all the replies. My family finally went with crystal pearl hotel near the cathedral cause it is new and look fabulous on the photos. It does have steps going into the lobby but we are still able bodied, so not an issue. Will give a review once i am back. But I do notice that Vietnamese hotel and tours trip advisor entries all look suspiciously manufactured. Let’s hope for the best

For cheaper ones: madam linh suggest lavender cruise, lemon cruise
Deluxe ones: Phoenix, majestic, aclass stellar, huong hai sea life

I think my family want to have kayaking.

lemon photos don't look as nice compared to lavender and not many reviews.

the deluxe ones should be fine since all within top 50 and many reviews.

Have you booked? They are quite big on celebrating so it might be quiet with more places closed than usual.
