"Haswell" Refresh Launch Date Revealed

I'm holding off Haswell. Waiting for Broadwell.
My i7 920 is now past 5 years old

Series 9 mobos will be Broadwell compatible but you will still need a new PSU for Broadwell.

I don't understand about the PSU part. Is it because Broadwell is likely to be more power hungry? If I purchase a 750W PSU now, will it likely be sufficient?

Yes it will be sufficient. Problem is not power sufficient. Problem is min power output from PSU (like Haswell). Some PSU will have problem is 12V output is too low. Not really an issue with branded PSUs though.

Depends on ur usage.
I have 2x i7s and 1x lower end AMD system at home. They are all between 4-5 years of age. No reason to upgrade yet.

As long as Intel don't release processors that vary so much in the same series like the 4770K I think I would change.

I don't think Intel made Broadwell's finalized power supply specifiactions public yet and it's possible that Intel will implement new power supply ratings for Broadwell processors again.
So far Broadwell requires a V_PROC_IO connection with a 1.05V power source, a VCCST Power supply and a new THRMTRIP output buffer which are part of the series 9 platform change.

can use another 5 years if your system didn't need to handle high end gaming or large scale engineering/scientific tasks....

Yeah. Previously i thought of replacing my nehalem once 3 years was up. Instead it has been 5 years and it seems like i can safely delay my own pc refresh.
