i see the haswell refresh as a stop gap for the delayed broadwell. the wait isn't too long now, we should have the new broadwell chips by end 2014, so the wait isn't too long.

of course there are questions about the socket and ram to start with, as it affects longevity of the other components and overall costs.

There are no questions about the socket and the RAM, they will be the same as the current LGA 1150 platform. Only LGA 2011-3 will get DDR4.

budget dont allow. planning other hoots. my sandybridge rig working. my 6990 uplorry only. and 295x is 2.3k which is crazy.

It's suppsed to be just a die shrink essentially but Broadwell will also bring Iris Pro to the desktop finally.
