I know what you mean.
But it cannot work. It will never work.
Because some people are self destructive. Some also thrive on hurting others and themselves. Don't ask why.
These people sometimes also don't want anyone's help and don't want to change. They essentially reject the utopia. They want to see the world burn.

What other people deserve or should have is not for us to say actually. Is up to them to ask for and fight for.

Hence like I said, if you try too hard to give them the world where they get to be happy/happier, fewer hungry or no struggle then you will end up poor.

Look at Europe especially.

You got good heart. Maybe you should try doing some of this charitable work to help the "disadvantaged" (some hate being labeled that).

I reject trying to help people in general. I only help those that want very specific help and are sincere with their requests and efforts to receive help.

I don't know if you remember what I said previously about wishing the world to end.

I'm not kidding. Maybe AI will take care of that eventually, if not a cataclysmic disaster first.

Quoting from Agent Smith: "I'd like to share a revelation during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not.

You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area.

There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus.

Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we are the cure."

I find myself agreeing with him more and more the longer I live.

Me too. I have dealt with a lot of people in the past. I prefer to stay away from people.

The world ends or not is again not for me to decide or hope really.

At least I know that I will die eventually and not have to live forever. I do encourage my kids not to have children. Enjoy their lives then end the bloodline so no more suffering for future generations. But again is up to them.

Ownself happy jiu hao.

Nice! Hope the stocks all go up a lot in the next 5 years.

I want to see those robots with AI. Do all the work for me.

It's all exciting yet scary at the same time, the concept of true autonomous AI multi-purpose robots descending upon us.

I was devastated in my youth when I found out I could not have children.

Then, over the years, I've also seen the world is getting more treacherous and unforgiving. I actually realize I really don't mind not bringing anyone else into this overpopulated world to suffer.

Now, I only want my loved ones to be happy. If they're happy, I'm happy.

The world can burn for all I care.

Humanity is so tiring.

Well almost everyone is someone else's loved one.

Someone's husband, someone's son, someone's daughter, someone's wife, someone's friend, someone's lover, someone's child.

If the world burns then someone's loved one hurts.

I don't want the world to burn. But I also know that I am helpless if humanity chooses to have it burn.

It already is happening in certain parts of the world.

Some people care more than others. Some people think the other people care too much and should mind their own business and not get drawn into it.

Right or wrong? Yes humanity is tiring.

With the animal kingdom, there is food chain. Alpha predators. Sheep don't go hey it is not fair that the lion can kill us.

It is just how it is.

In life you meet people, people enter your lives, but they will one day exit your life also, from colleagues to relatives to loved ones, boy and girl break off, hubby and wife divorce, boss retrench people, employee resigns, etc, people come and go, take it easy, life is like a bus journey, got people enter your life and leave your life. Every knowing each other is just a view along the way only. Take it easy.

I'm currently living off dividends from US equities. I was fortunate that during my previous employment, I managed to DCA a decent amount into my company's shares. The growth in that company eventually allowed me to retire when I was retrenched.

At the time, it wasn't really an active decision to do so. But soon after, my wife was diagnosed with cancer, and that made me re-evaluate my priorities. Early retirement became less about financial freedom and more about being able to support her and focus on what truly mattered - My family.

I'm truly grateful and humbled to have been in a position in life where I could choose that path.

I wish you the best in life, and one day, be in a similar situation where you can afford to get off the beaten path to see, and appreciate life from a whole different perspective.

I remember reading this somewhere before. did you share in Reddit also? :D

Taken a backseat since 45. Many friends asked, "Not boring meh, no need to work." When you have all the time in the world to do own things, it's damn shiok.

yes. i feel that freedom and time are priceless.

say today someone says, I pay you 1 million dollar to buy your time for the rest of your life, you have to cease to exist now, will you accept the 1 million?

obviously you will not. what's the point of getting 1 million and die instantly?

but many don't realise that, they are in fact doing the very above! They can't see it because it's indirect. Just like how our money (purchasing power) is getting stolen indirectly through inflation.

they work and work and work, and earn and earn and earn. they sell their life away to work in exchange for income.

it's best when I can do whatever i want, whenever i want.

only do things that I feel comfortable about, aligns to my values, things that I like etc.

of course, make sure to stay socially responsible, drive carefully, stay healthy, don't be an ass etc. Life this way is perfect!

don't know, but i see life very differently from majority. maybe cause I think too much and read too much in the past.
