Uncle worked night shift for 20 years before going to day shift and followed by normal shift.

Night shift is tiring even though you had enough sleep but still feel tiring.
Think perhaps cause the body nature clock is tuned for maintenance and repair at night when people sleep. When long term deprived it of that, the body cannot take it one.

This is also reflected in TCM teachings. Latest to sleep by 10-11pm, then 1am to 3am is the maintenance phase, or something like that. And that it "hurts" our liver if we were to continue being awake during that time.

My army friend, who is a fellow lokun like you, can concur. He recounted regularly clocking 30hr-shifts (or whatever it is called) while he was in his residency phase.
30h is nothing. 60h. My friend work as lokun MO go work Sat morning 7am go home Monday 7pm. Only sleep when he can here and there. Then back to work Tuesday 7am go home 7pm. Then work 7am Wed till 7pm Thursday. Then work Friday 7am to 7pm. Then get off Sat and Sun. Then work Monday 7am till Tuesfay 7pm
Then work 7am to 7pm Wed. Then work 7am Thurs to 7pm Friday. Then work 7am Sat to 7pm Monday. And so on.

ppl who works night shift die earlier than those working normal shifts.

I did 12 hrs shifts for few years after finishing army.

It not good for yr health, even as young as early 20s.

My kidneys weak in Chinese medical term.

I've seek many Chinese doctors until one intro me to 六味地黄 pills.

I took for few years to recover, but the weakness come back even after many years, even today.

If have a choice, don't work night shifts.

i have done rotating shifts, changing every other day. body clock all screwed up. this was for 2 years when young
I don't recommend it. this is worse than perm night shift.

if wanna sleep during day, get black out curtains. but you can't control noise from neighbours.

if you can avoid it, avoid. just 2 links:

- night shift as bad as carcinogen: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10416670/
- linkage between night shift and cancer: https://www.aacr.org/patients-careg...-cancer/linking-night-shift-work-cancer-risk/

Yes, initially but now it's make not much of a difference cause I had already used to it.

The sound is still there but it doesn't really bother me anymore unlike when it's started, I dared not even to eat or sit outside and I called SOS that I think I am going to jump.

NS time, security unit...did shift for almost 2 years.

It's really bad for health, screws up your sleep cycle and whole day all the time cannot think properly like dreaming kind. Very hard to focus

Not surprised if they needed to rely on each other for medical support, on a personal level. I'm more surprised how they managed to tong.

There is a number of haunted buildings.

My brother who used to work as a facility supervisor told me while he was working late at night in Astar.

Is only 3 in the team. And need to provide 24h cover. When one person is on leave that means is just 2 people covering the hospital department 24h service 24/7. They choose to do double weekend sat and sun so that can still have sat and sun off a month. But that means working from Sat morning to Monday night.

Only when working OT. Highest record was working 36, 37 hours rushing for tender submission deadline. That time was in my 20s, still can take it and wasn't that tired. If now, I think I'll be half dead.
In the office or at home?
