Thanks. This one the vent is only 1 side, so those disks on the other side will get hot? One way is not to use the top cover.

dun think it is suitable for prolong usage if heat is your concern, I will be mainly using it for archival storage. Once my files are stored on the drive then I will turn it off and won't access them until I need to archive to my drives again.

Heat wise, I dun own that many 3.5 inch conventional drives but the ones I have mainly Toshiba A400N 7200rpm dun feel hot at all after powering up for long time.

Very poison... think of getting to read my drawer full of 3.5" drives...
(1) Did u choose china UK plug ? or Russian UK plug ?
I only know UK UK plug only....:s13:

(2) Is the USB3 really as advertised ?

(3) Does it support native FAT/NTFS format ?

1) standard UK plug, they do not differentiate between China or Russia UK plug, the China/Russia regions are their warehouses where you want your order to be dispatch from and I mostly choose from China.

2) you can check through the order reviews on the page, speed is not really of concern to me since it will definitely be faster than my home LAN network which is crippled at 200Mbps cos of homeplugs limitation.

3) it is just an enclosure, whatever your drives are formatted in you get that format. Take note the enclosure doesn't aggregate your drives into one drive but separately, so if you have max 5 drives then your host PC will see it as 5 different drives and allocate 5 different drives D, E,F, G I.

so this kind of mounting will it dmg the drive? still not sure if like this mount consider vertical or horizontal?

when you slot the drive in, make sure not to exert too much force else you will break the connectors.

If you have the concern of vertical direction your drives are mounted, you can choose the other model type which basically the same enclosure but 'horizontal mounting'.

Ok, thanks....will search for some reviews b4 pulling the trigger for a 2 bay units.

Update : found a video looks like ~20% overhead vs direct SATA cable... Evo860 SSD benchmark 300+ vs 500
