Nope, this channel is still available in analogue transmission.

Hub Sports Arena is available in both analogue and digital transmission. For non subscribers, of course using analogue. Dvb-c digital is for subscribers with Starhub set-top boxes.

albertlee, do u agree with me that this channel will continue in analogue after mediaCorp cease analogue transmission end-2018?

I doubt SH will continue to provide this channel or any of the MC its FTA channels in analogue after end-2018, it just doesn't made any business sense to do so!

If you take a look at SH (SCV) history, the obligation to provide FTA channels was part of the term when they won the license to provide pay-TV services.

But my argument is the analogue switched off refers to only Mediacorp channels, not that Starhub free Sports Arena channel. No notice whatsoever flashing on this sports channel saying ending transmission soon. Only Mediacorp channels keep flashing notices. So my guess is it won't. Btw, the url in your image is mediaCorp site as well. Perhaps Starhub analog channels will be left untouched. Mainly Hub Sports Arena, TV1(Malaysia), Starhub Preview channel(showing only ads for TV programmes on SH pay-to-view channels) and a Starhub Test channel showing a circle stating 743.25MHz. 4 analogue SH channels left to tune in via analogue.

So I'll just assume it won't and test my luck.

I went hunting for them at Sim Lim Square. Prices have risen. I bought the second one....but i wasn't able to receive Malaysian channels after tuning. I will try again tomorrow. Images and sound for the rest of the channels are good.
I bought from a shop which has the widest range of antennas so that if the cheapest one doesn't work, I could negotiate for another model from the same shop just by topping up the difference in pricing.

Courts, Harvey Norman and Challenger sell the ones recommended on the digitaltv webpage, only one or the other to select from. NTUC Extra sells the high-end models >$50 but the staff knows very little what they are selling.
Many thanks to Gregory and Jurong640 :)

DTV Starter Kit

I still couldn't get my TV1 channel, so i checked digitaltv website... ...

Check this out: https://www.digitaltv.sg/#dtv-starter-kit

'Garment' decides to give you free on the following conditions:
1Singaporean household staying in HDB flat;

2No Singtel or StarHub pay TV service; and

3Have not previously redeemed IMDA’s Digital TV Assistance Scheme package.

I dunno to rejoice or bang my head on the wall......my stress and sweat.

Anyone in a similar as me and finding it hard to get a good digital reception?

- Staying on a low floor (2nd)
- TV is not near the window, at least 5m away
- Currently using coaxial cable into the Starhub TV point
- Running a wire + antenna closer to the window is NOT an option, cos you know.. fugly

Does that mean I am screwed and have to get a Singtel/Starhub subscription for shows I don't intend to watch?

What do I do guys?

Hi guys,

For landed property, is it necessary to buy indoor antennas for every TV?

My old TV can still receive analogue signal and watch FTA channels (it's not DVB-T2 enabled). Does this mean the house antenna on the roof can also be used to receive digital signal?

Thanks for the prompt reply bro :)

Sorry coz I'm a noob at this, but if I can already receive analogue signal, it means my house rooftop already have antenna (that can also receive digital signal) right? I just need to get a setup box, no need indoor antenna right?

I just realised, my house doesn't have any TV antenna on the roof...How did I receive the conventional analogue signal then? :s11:
