Hi yes, the antenna has a blue light. Shall try to look for the tv manual tmr..but if all other channels work fine, wouldn't that mean that the issue lies with the channel that is having problems?

Try doing a manual tuning. Channel U is now on channel number 33 at frequency 570 MHz.

Channel U on my TV got no problem.

There are two ch U channels. Mediacorp had closed down the SD channel.

May be your tv is tuned to this channel.

Try to rescan the channels to see whether you can find the ChU(HD).

Thank you to the both of you! I looked through my TV guide and found that it is now at channel 805.

https://www.lazada.sg/products/1x-h...door-antennas-intl-i207736736-s313339223.html

it is $4 now, you can either wait for offers or search from other sites such as shopee, ebay or aliexpress.

is the correct term for the cable called DVB-T cable to search?

my tv now having issue with channel 8, every 10-15 secs always will either no signal, flicker or jam. on a good day, 5 mins.

i've rescanned and reset the channels multiple times, there's even times where it can't detect channel 8. all the rest of the channels have no issue. tried turning and loosening the antenna cable to adjust but still doesn't help much.

it should be called dvb-t2 antenna.

you can search for either dvb-t antenna, dvb-t2 antenna, hdtv antenna.

since your channel 8 is intermittent, the signal level at your house is not strong enough. you should get a good active antenna instead.

choose either funke dsc250, dsc 550 or dsc 560.

If you get a good antenna, (this is the Samsung one that comes with their TVs) reception is very decent even on lower levels.

What antenna are you using now? Sometimes you don't really need an expensive or active antenna but just the RIGHT antenna.

I think it applies only for some of the older TVs with older HDMI specs not able to support modes like 1080p or 1080i. Some cannot even support 720p.

But it's probably just a phase. Newer TVs will not have this problem liao.

Then again, if buying a new TV, might as well buy one that has a integrated DVB-T2 tuner and do away with the STB liao.

My current tv is about ten years and keep on having connection issues with the government given digital box

Watched channel 8 halfway will suddenly lose signal

Will this problem gets solved if i buy a better dvb t2 like funko Dsc250?

edit: my tv is not the digital ready TV

From your description, more like antenna problem.

get a better antenna

or

move your existing antenna until you get a stable picture.

you can use the set top box's channel info to help you with finding good spot for antenna. Look the the signal quality - make sure that it is greater than 70% or green.

i changed my antenna to DSC Funke 250 but the TV will still suddenly cut off

could it be due to the TV problem?

i use the set up box to find a good spot and the signal quality is greater than 70% (close to 95% actually)

2 questions:

1. what is the signal quality when you faced the cut off problem?

2. Is the blue LED lited on the DSC250?

Is there a stronger/more powerful antenna than Funke 550? Still not perfectly stable.

Externally not possible unfortunately.
Guess no other super powered antenna can help.

I bought those cheap "200 miles" radius antenna that comes with a usb connector for power. Able to use until mid Sept/Oct 19 when I believe Indonesia start their DTV broadcast.

Used the dtv box usb port as antenna power source but after the mention period unable to receive all Malaysian channels. Tried placing antenna at different angles and place but only receive local FTA channels.

Suddenly thought about using a separate power source for the antenna at the original location and able to receive.

I measure the current draw from dtv box usb port using a dongle device and measure current draw of only less than 0.05A.

The separate usb charger max current only 0.15A but able to receive stable reception 90% of the time.

Now think of getting a higher current usb charger to try if reception can go 100% stable all the time.

So in short, use a separate usb adapter IF you cannot get reception if u power your antenna using the DTV box or DTV usb port. You can use your hp charger to try.

FYI my antenna facing south-southwest outside window along common corridor. Yes, not the ideal place but no choice.

Sorry for the long post.

Bought this one and use a separate wall usb charger as antenna power source (not included).

Importantly must place outside house best like stick on your sliding window.
