Currently looking a pair of IEM and seeking some recommendations here. have a pair of shure se 425, heir tzar 350 and philips x1 currently.
thinking of either going for the custom route or settle for another universal like the shure 846.
what i seek is clarity , wide soundstage yet fun.i havent own any ciem before.what would be suitable for what i am looking for yet bang for the buck.

I'm using the non-FP version and very pleased with its clarity. From what I've read the FP version is a step up from them.

Sorry should had made myself clearer, what I mean is digital volume control.
Not sure on the LG, but for the rest they are using mechanical volume control which means there is a resistor in it and it does not adjust the volume of the phone rather just the signal passing through the earphones. They are not solely designed for Android but also for other smartphones from Blackberry and Windows.

Might want to try the Westone UM Pro 30 also. Personally find its bass more forward than W4. Presuming you like bass more, you can give the Monster Turbine Gold a try also.

Thanks for the recommendation. The UE4000 sounds the same with an android device, just that the mic and volume controls won't work. Unfortunately i'm looking for a mic too... is it possible to only get a cable with mic that works for android?

I also had the klipsch s4a in mind, how would you compare it with the a-jays 5?

Unfortunately we are not very sure where can get the cable. But of course if you're able to find the cable the chances of it working would be very high. Most people would find the bass of the Klipsch heavier while the Jays sounds more balanced.

i was using beyerdynamic mmx 101ie until they broke recently. i noticed that i always need to replace my iems not because of the iems themselves but because of the cables screwing up. so i would prefer to have detachable cables for my next set but i also read that the detachables create another set of weak points. so im not sure if detachables are the way to go. are cable repairs cheap?

another question is do i need good iems (considering shure se215) when im not listening to lossless files and when i am mostly streaming my music? if its not going to make much of a difference without lossless files then i may just stick to low end iems.

Hi all. Please recommend ciems to me. Currently using SE215. Previously using Sennheiser CX300. Owned JH13 for a period of time but sold it due to financial constraints. Looking to get back into ciems again. Think I had a bad experience with the fit previously (did my impressions at jaben) because everytime I took my customs out, my ear would be damn painful. And occasionally, I felt the iem scraping the sides of my ear canal and it wasn't very comfortable. Hoping to get the fit right this time so I'll probably go to digisound to get my impressions done by a certified audiologist.

Normally for detachable cables one would usually replace the cables rather than repairing.
Technically there will still difference even if the source is in lossy format. But it will be subjected to how sensitive one's hearing is to be able to pick up the difference. To some it might be minute difference while to some there might be huge difference. We do have demo for most of the products so do feel free to drop by and give them a try.
For IEMs around $200 which detachable cables, there is the Shure SE215 Blue, the Westone UM Pro 10 and at a slightly higher price, the Westone W10.

You can visit us to try the range of UM Customs that we have. The entry level which we have for audition is the Aero. However if compare to the JH13 they might not be on the same level but are of acceptable quality to most. We have audition unit of universal fit for all the UM range except the Marvel at both of our outlets.

Hi there, believe you're looking for headphones.
Perhaps you can give the Audio Technica ATH-A700X a try. This would be a pair of closed can. Its sister model of open can is the AD700X. Why I would recommend trying them is because of Audio Technica's patented 3D support wing which makes the headphones feel lighter on the head. And the predecessor for the AD700X, the AD700 was rated to be one of the recommended audiophile headphones for use with gaming.
