thanks i understand that but do you think i could wear the westones straight down by replacing the cables? (or are they even replaceable in the first place idk..)

so out of those listed which do you think will be better suited for my usage? will be playing the music from samsung galaxy s3

se215 should have a stronger bass impact than dual and triple drivers due to the greater movement of air, accuracy wise, yes double and triple drivers would be more accurate

as for mids, se215 does seem to have a slightly forward midrange (somewhat a house sound for shures), as for mids it is harder to judge IMO, for some triple drivers (TF10) has a more laid back or even recessd mids. While most BAs tend to be cleaner and generally more accurate, the SE215 presents it sweetly.

For highs the SE215 is decently extended rolling off near the top, not particularly abundant but does have presence, analytical IEMs (mostly TWFK) tend to have a brighter sound, where treble has greater presence compared to SE215

I would say SE215 is fine for a consumer centric sound, something that makes music sound "fun". How it fares against dual and triple driver IEMs depend on the IEMs in question

i am using iem westone um2, but feel the soundstage is not wide enough.

i am think of buying TF10 from amazon against shure215, which do you think is better? I listen to general pop musics. Prefers clear sounds with a touch of bass.

imho, for pop musics with more (much) bass, shure215 might suit you better.
But in term of clear sound, TF10 will best SE215.

hmmm TF10 is technically better than SE215, but I think it is better to judge with your own ears, since what I may like may not be what you may like

Both SE215 and TF10 got good quantity of bass, SE215 should have slightly better impact (though not enough to be called a basshead IEM), TF10 has slightly better control

the presentation of the mids is what really seperates the SE215 from the TF10. TF10, being a balanced IEM, has a v shaped signature, where the mids are recessed. While clear, it is not exactly upfront either, sounding rather distant compared to the SE215. Meanwhile Shure, in keeping the house sound, has a slightly forward mid, which allow for more intimate vocal.

TF10 has better extension of treble due to v-shape signature but sometimes can become harsh. SE215 is not as well extended, but you know the treble has its presence.

TF10 would probably be suited for one who is looking for greater quantities at both ends of the spectrum, SE215 is for one who likes something fun. Ultimately, it is your ears that decide.

Actually, I think the most important thing about the TF10s is whether or not you can get a good fit with those damn things. Personally, I can never get a good fit with the TF10. Anyone aiming for the TF10 should try a pair before purchasing, no point having the superior sound(on paper) when they cannot fit your ears.

Hi, any recommendation for the below? Other than Klipsch S4A.
- Your rig: Galaxy S3
- What type of usage: music, movies, dramas
- File format used in your source: mp3, mp4
- Genre of music you listen to: Pop, kpop, rock
- Headphone / earphone type: IEM
- Other requirements: Need Mic for calls, volume control with seperate volumn buttons preferred (e.g A-jays4), Good Bass and clarity
- Budget around: $200

Current have A-Jays 4 but the mic doesn't work with S3.

I can only think of Sennheiser PX-200-II off my head as a small, affordable and portable can... though no detachable cable lol...

On the other hand for an IEM, a little more can buy BA200, which can shorten itself by removing the extension cable to connect to mic, bluetooth, etc., though some people would not like the large y-split
