Does JVC FXZ200 have any discount too?
Yes 10% off $399 as well! =D
Would the um3x be good for the genre I listen to?
The Westone 4R would be better but it really depends if you want to get it, since comfort is pretty much the same and if you can make do with it why not? =)

Since you stated you wanted more impact, the Westone 4R triumphs in that area. =)

- Your rig (mp3 players, amps, soundcard etc) Sansa Clip+, getting JDS Labs C5 soon-ish
- What type of usage (movies/ gaming/ music etc) 95% music, 5% movies and shows
- File format used in your source (i.e. flac, mp3 etc) Mostly FLAC and 320 kbps MP3
- Genre of music you listen to (classical, jazz, metal, etc) All
- Headphone / earphone type (closed, open, cirumaural, IEM etc) IEM
- Other requirements (if any) (mic, volume control, 5.1ch, 7.1ch etc) None
- Budget (in figures) For the sake of discussion.. Assume none

Thinking of getting a higher-end universal or possibly go custom for my next purchase.. Favourite 2 IEMs so far are TDK IE800 and BA200, something with a similar signature would be nice.. Halp meh~!
Westone UM3x or UM Aero? UM demo will be coming in late May so stay tuned to try it out.

Both sounds pretty similar with the UM3x being slightly more forward on the mids.

UM3x looks interesting but I'm just afraid it may not be an upgrade per se.. At 3x the price

around 200+?
Do you need a mic?

If not, can look at the JVC FXT90 and also the FXZ100, now the FXZ100 is $299 before a 10% off in our store. They both sound slightly - but the FXZ100 sounds slightly more

How about the Westone 4R or the UE 900? =) I actually have a UM3x but I am really interested in the UE 900 myself... more neutral and wide sounding.

Looking to upgrade my IEM,

Currently using Brainwavz R1. My feeling is that the memory wire on the ear is abit irritating, would prefer to get rid of it. Also, i feel R1s are ABIT too Bassy for me. Would like a more wider soundstage if possible...

Type of music:
Trance, Hip Hop, Electronic, Dubstep, once in a while Classical.

Set up:
Ipod Touch 3G + Fiio E11 + Line Out

Budget: $150 or $200

I recommend trying the FX-T90 which is at $209 if its okay with you. =) You do not have to wear it over the way so no worries of memory wire too.

Balanced sounding with decent soundstage and good clarity as well

I've been reading reviews between um3x and 4r and they say um3x has more bass and impact. Kinda confuse now.

UM3x bass to me don't have as much impact. Quantity vs quality for me - but personally I prefer the overall sound of UM3x =)

um3x is more mid centric, while 4r is more balanced and has more highs and lows.

So if u want impact it's definitely 4r.
