Head/earphones Recommendations Thread

Looking to upgrade my IEM,

Currently using Brainwavz R1. My feeling is that the memory wire on the ear is abit irritating, would prefer to get rid of it. Also, i feel R1s are ABIT too Bassy for me. Would like a more wider soundstage if possible...

Type of music:
Trance, Hip Hop, Electronic, Dubstep, once in a while Classical.

Set up:
Ipod Touch 3G + Fiio E11 + Line Out

Budget: $150 or $200

Oops, i forgot to add on that I prefer Over the Ear, but without the memory wire.

Anyways, i saw a mod before on memory wire that you carefully cut out the metal-ish part so at the end, problem solved.

Hoping to get a headphone with mic, i have bigger head, so mus have adjustable... Any recomendation? Budget below $50.

Where the best place to look at? Will be near bugis tmr.

Or shld get it online?

Are wireless recommended?

Using it for dota 2 , skype.. Watch videos only. Dun like those got strong bass 1 lol

Should be but do try them out for yourself, you might enjoy the soundstage of the Westone 4R =)

You can do that actually, but its not advisable because the memory is usually there for detachable cable iems to protect the pins and connectors.

Its for stress relief as the memory wire part will help support the cable and prevent too much stress when wearing over the ears.

Comfort is the priority and sound quality .. I dont think i need heavy bass .. So far i find Bose OE2 very comfortable but i went to research and many people felt that it is overpriced. Hence looking for some suggestions or similar but cheaper alternative.

I am quite a stranger in the headphone sector so would appreciate some kind advices. Will probably hoot one during IT fair. Just need to narrow down my choices.

I would recommend grados with that price range haha... love the sound on them... SR125 or SR225 if you can part with another 16 dollars...

Nope ... Using it when i am out like going to school or meeting friends . I went to read up some reviews .. Some mentioned Sennheisier HD 239 is similar to OE2 while some felt that OE2 is much superior than HD239 .. Any advice on that? or other recommendation.

Oh one thing i like about both is that they are compact and small ... Bringing them out is not a nightmare ... Feels simple yet good ...

Can anyone or stereo help me suggest an IEM that's similar to Futuresonics atrios in terms of sounding but better comfort ? Can't find one to date.

And I noticed Atrios is no longer in stock at the Futuresonics website. Stereo do you think tthere's an update coming soon ? ^^

But too bad, I am not into headphone as I feel for this kind of song need an IEM to have the feel of the refinement of the voice tone of the singer.
