There are limited choices for earphones with mic that can work with android. But some of the better ones are the Ultimate Ears 400VM, Beyerdynamic MMX101ie and the Moshi Audio Vortex. These 3 comes with a single button mic which will work with most android phones.

Do take a look at the Audio-Technica ATH-AD500X. Open-back design make it wearable for prolong periods and delivers a more natural sound. If you do find that the bass is not strong enough for action movies you can try it closed-back variant the ATH-A500X.

Hi there, for Sony phones we had experience a lot of compatibility issues for earphones with mic. If the mic is not a must have you can consider the Fischer Audio Consonance and the A-Jays 3. If you do dropby we can help you test if earphones with mic will work with your phone, if there are no compatibility issues you can give the Monster DNA In-ears, Monster N-ergy and the Moshi Audio Vortex a try.

Do try the Ultimate Ears 400, Audio-Technica ATH-CKS77X and the JVC FX3X. The last time I tried them I find that they give good clarity for vocals but with a slight punch in the bass. Which might make listening to rock songs better. Personally will recommend the UE400 more as it makes me feel that the sound is fuller.

Hi there, you can consider the range from Audio-Technica. Particularly the ATH-AD700X. If you find that they are too concentrated on the treble, you can give the Sennheiser HD558 a try. However the last time I tried the Sennheiser I find that they are slightly harder to drive with my iPod.

You can consider the Razer Blackshark and the Razer Kraken Pro. Both give a strong bass which is suitable for gaming. However they can't be used directly with the PS3. For using with PS3 you can consider the official Playstation headset which has a virtual surround feature.

IEMs: UM3RX sounds very good to me after amping, was a bit underwhelmed by UM 4, (think it's because i forgot to plug it into amp but into source), Also tried Sony XBA 4 which i thought was quite good too.

The mdr 1 is not too bad, go try the on-ear momentum too if its in stereo alrdy, and the grado series too

The FX3X sounded clearer than the Consonance but I prefer the overall sound of the UE400 as I found the FX3X piercing sometimes, might be due to the eartip. But all 3 are very popular choices at their price point. You can consider the Audio-Technica CKS-77X also.

i dont think there is a um4r. you must be referring the the westone4r? They are all westone's, just different series.
