It will depend on the song and your personal preference. For instance for my case, I didn't like the UM3X as I found the bass to strong to my liking. The 4R have a wider soundstage which I prefer.

What do you mean by wider soundstage? If I prefer to go for clearer lyrics?

I will not be using a portable amp, so the DX50 must be powerful enough to drive the IEM.

You can consider the Ultimate Ears 600vi, used it before and the clarity and noise isolation is very good. But the remote control may not be 100% compatible with the HTC One.
