and so is india..
u believe india will make comeback in ur lifetime?
Intel might actually die this time round. At the minimum it is going to suffer huge from a lack of high-performance Tiger Lake DT to fight against Zen3.
Previously it had Israelis and a good P6 architecture that could save Prescott's arse quickly. They also still had process advantage. Now, it has process disadvantage (Their 10nm is roughly equal TSMC 7nm, but TSMC 7nm is so mature by now while Intel 10nm is still low volume low power). Comet Lake is just Skylake with more cores forcefully stuffed in, and Rocket Lake while finally getting major architecture upgrade in Willow Cove is still on 14nm. A proper CPU upgrade won't come until 2H 2021 in the form of Alder Lake, and considering they are going to put so many things at once (10nm, big.little cores, DDR5, PCIE5, new socket), I'm sure they will fk it up. It's just one year until 2H '21, and less than a year after Rocket Lake. This is not going to work unless different teams are building unrelated products in parallel, or if somebody keeps talking dragon talk phoenix with unrealistic goals, which sounds familiar...
If they don't create something that can punch hard back at Zen 3, Zen 3 and derivative threadripper etc will eat up desktop market and datacenter market which is where the $$$ is.
i tot got thaiger lake and XE-HPG discrete Intel GPU sure shoot their stocks up a bit?
Tiger Lake mobile was quietly released so that's how much publicity it deserves
XE is going to die a fetus. I have a feeling somebody is going to soon learn that simply slapping more CU does not improve performance. Something that should have been learnt from GCN4 and GCN5 but then again... the fact that those have been allowed to exist means...
