[HELP] Computer refuses to power up..

I suspect your casing power switch is short - circuited. Try swapping Reset switch, leaving the casing power switch disconnected.

Thanks for your suggestion.. I've just tried this.. Problem persists..

Hmm.. Is there anything else I can do to pinpoint the issue? I tried disconnecting the case front panel too.. Managed to boot into Windows.. But then problem came back again.. Then I disconnected all case fans.. Don't work too..

Your casing front panel has a Reset Switch connector plugged to your motherboard. See leftmost connector in image.

jtjt00 means u plug the reset connector into the pins meant for power switch (power sw) and use the reset button on your casing as the power button to switch on your PC.

Hmm.. My case (Cooler Master Centurion 690) only has one button..

Is there any other way to test?

Thanks a lot for your suggestion.. I haven't tried this yet..

But if iit's the power switch that short, won't the comp power itself up unexpectedly too? I didn't experience this though..

I think with this issue, it's hard to pinpoint exactly what went wrong. We can only use the elimination method to slowly try to find out what was the cause. What jtjt00 suggested is just to eliminate one of the many possibilities.

Hey BuShuang, I read in your thread that you rma-ed your power supply and the issue was solved? So for you case, the issue lies with the psu?

Jump start is only good to test if PSU totally dead. This activity does not verify if PSU able to output required voltage/current your rig need. Bring your rig to GS if still unable to resolve.

I came across PSU able to boot but monitor show black screen with all fans running.

Coming to 2 yrs.. Doubt it's the PSU.. I tried jump starting it as suggested with no issues..

Hmm.. Guess u r right abt the psu test.. I think the only way is to test the setup again with another psu.. If it still doesn't work, i think we can conclude it's the MB?
