Ah.. Delid delid!!!
But anyway, before you do any delidding, please check your CPU, check if the cooler is mount properly, and what kind of thermal paste are you actually using? If its the stock ones that comes with it, I suggest that you get some new thermal paste and try.
Why do you want to delid? You cant even oc the CPU. Delidding is only needed on K series CPUs cause pple are getting very high temps or even throttling WHEN OVERCLOCKED .
I tried MX4 before but the temperature was about 3°c degree lower.
Since I am replacing the thermal paste, might as well delid so that I don't need to re-apply in future.
'Delid' means to remove IHS, then replace existing stock TIM between die and IHS. Don't think anybody runs on naked die. Cooler still contacts IHS.I tried MX4 before but the temperature was about 3°c degree lower.

Of course if use normal thermal compound not much diff lah...i suggest you watch this video first
in summary, there is absolutely NO POINT

But if you use clu and clp pretty sure different story

If the thermal paste dries up and causes the temp rise and hence CPU to throttle, you should RMA the CPU, not delid and reapply thermal paste yourself.
Delidding voids the warranty. And if you don't know how to delid, you can damage the CPU, esp. haswell due to the capacitors beside the die.
AMD IHS are soldered so no point deliddingAre AMD chips delid-able? Or only for Intel mainstream chips?
I am currently using i5-4670 with Hyper 212x. At room temperature, the processor temperature is about 40°c. Is this considered normal or should I delid?
Any fellow forum member provide delidding service?
