I think those qualified might get foc 1 to 1 exchange, else just change battery. Maybe u went too late or no battery stock, mine was fixed within 1 hr.

I went to A labs on Friday cos my phone screen was popping out due to bloated battery, and also my SWB was not working. But instead of 1 for 1 exchange FOC they took it in for repair, and seems like tomorrow I can collect already? It has not even been 1 full working day...so fast?

a labs should be okay de sg sets also they cover warranty right?

My iphone 5 qualified for both battery and sleep replacement.

Wonder which is better? QCD or A Lab?

How do u define popping out? Must have separation and can see light?
The top of my iPhone 5 has 'popped' out and i can press it back in. No light leakage as the popping out is not that severe. My phone qualifies for the sleep/wake button replacement, and not the battery replacement.
Will I be able to get a 1to1 exchange?

And do I have to unjailbreak my phone before bringing it in?

yeah, about the jailbreak part... not sure if they do check for jailbreak during the diagnostics part. i dont mind getting a replacement phone on ios9. but in the event my phone dont qualify, i would prefer to stay with my current ios8 jb.
so thinking whether to restore now before going down

IIRC, they don't accept jb phones so if you want to bring it down better restore first.

Same thing happened to my 5S last year. Brought down to Plaza Sing to diagnose. Battery no problem so they didn't change. But lucky no charge for diagnosis.
Went home, used super glue carefully apply to just under the edge. Press down for 15sec. Wala. All good again. Still using without screen issues.

My iPhone 5 was so old I just paid $80 for someone to come to my house and repair - i.e. swap the swollen battery out and stick the screen back in.

My iPhone 5S is a bit newer (<36 months) so am going to take to Apple to see if they can fix it FOC or not.

Can't believe both my 5 series iPhones had the expanding battery popping the screen out issue :(

I have two iPhone 5 that has screen popping out. I asked A Lab before that they say must pay $250 for a replacement battery. I only discover this thread today. Maybe I will make a trip down to QCD tomorrow to check if they can replace the battery for free.

Update:

QCD informed me that they no longer change the battery. What Apple offer to do is that they will replace with a new unit at $250.
