Help me build a $600 GAMING PC.

Hey guys, i used to be really active in the DIY PC hobby.

However, i've been out of touch and could really use some help.

I'm a sucker for SSD, SMALL ITX FACTORS, BIG MONITORS and GAMES.

I have the SSD, the BIG MONITOR and the GAMES.

I am lacking that ITX PC.

However i am also on a budget due to loss of funds during CNY lol ironic.

for reference, im using u2711hm, crucial m500 240gb, and bf4/d3/poe/dota2/ac4

I forgot to mention that i don't need bf4 to run on max settings mid-low will suffice else i need to spend a bomb.

ITX mobo itself is more expensive than mATX liao... will cost half of your budget alone, even with 3rd gen. Along with rams, you are left with roughly $200-$300 for case and gpu and psu...

Ok just a gentle reminder guys.

7000 series are wiped out in SLS already.

The direct replacement for 7870 would be the r9 270/x

Please recommend more on the r9 270 as this would be the best valued gpu for 1080p gaming. Powercolor is at $242 at tradepac. The r9 270x is at $280

The difference in this 2 are almost nothing except that r9 270x is an overclock version of the r9 270. Approx almost 70mhz. One could easily overclock the card to hit 270x level. But results are marginal. 270 will be a more ideal card if people are stuck with budget or has an existing low powered PSU.

7850 is no longer selling anymore. Totally wipe off the shelves.

Another model in particular is the 7870XT tahiti based. The only card that replaces this model and still run very well (very close) performance would be the MSI r9 270X Hawk edition. This card is highly OC-ed out of the box and comes with almost exact performance as the XT tahiti based. Also very close performance to the GTX760. But take note, this card has reached its limit and have very little room for OC.

So yeah to TS. If your budget is tight. My suggestion would be go for the r9 270. OC it.

This would give you somewhat 40fps on bf4 high settings. Not unless you go for medium and you will get close to 55fps.

If want $600 and still want windows and for it to be an ITX rig and run at 1440p, good luck to you. MoneyFace's recommendation already damn damn good for the price. I thought he was going to end up with a Pentium and a HD7750 tbh.

I know. But still need to cater to his needs ma. $115 is a huge increase from his $700 max budget.

Just bought the Powercolor R9 270 OC also and loving it. Tried the card in gaming and realise its hotter then my previous card. Crysis 2 running at 70-74 degrees, blade and soul running hovering around 65-70 degrees. Idle temp is around 36 degrees loving the card.
But then very hard to bargain it at tradepac to $241 only manage to get it down to $245 ouch.

I believe this card is really value for money as it performs around 94% of gtx 760 performance. And outperforms the 7850 and 7870. With AA off you can even run battlefield 4 at 1080p ultra 50 to 60 fps no problem. Whatsmore with mantle coming can even perform 20 to 30 percent better for games that supports mantle like bf4.
