Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my desktop soon by replacing the GPU with a GTX 1070.

Here are my current desktop specs:

CPU: INTEL i5-3570
MOBO: GIGABYTE B75M-D3V MAINBOARD
RAM: G SKILL NT PC12800 8GB DDR3
SSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 120GB SSD
HDD: HITACH 1TB 3.5" SATA3 ENTERPRISE HDD
GPU: SAPPHIRE R7 260X 2GB DDR5
PSU: SEASONIC S12II NON-MODULAR 520W 80+
CASE: SHARKOON MS-140 M-ATX CASING

I have some questions which I hope I can get some help with:

1) Are the other parts of my desktop okay to run with the GTX 1070, or will I face any problems?

2) I'm looking to get the GTX 1070 together with a 1080p 144Hz monitor, is it possible to get these 2 together for a total of about $1000 or so?

Thanks for the help in advance!

PS. Just for qoo10, to have discount coupon denbu can maybe get both at that price.

Hi, any idea if the Asus VG248QE is a decent monitor? Looking to get it from Lazada actually, Lazada items should be safe right?

Also, is the PALIT GTX 1070 8GB DUAL a good choice, or is any other brand more recommended?

well u can consider this BenQ XL2411Z as well or maybe google abit for more comparision. for its gaming mode (yes can be a gaming gimmick, but some user find it useful in game like CS.)

well if going by pricing Dual is cheaper but not that good in cooling. others wise im not sure if u going to sli or not. if using sli can avoid palit SJS and zotac amp extreme, as they are not sli friendly. well another cheaper alternative will be zotac GTX 1070 8GB amp edition.

Hi, have pretty much decided on the acer GN246HL as I would be able to get it for about $350 on Amazon with shipping included, any concerns here regarding Amazon, such as hidden costs or anything?

Also, is my case, power supply and motherboard sufficient for the Zotac GTX 1070 8GB AMP edition? If so, I think I'll head down to SLS to buy the card and get someone to install it for me? (Never tried installing any computer parts on my own before, scared I might break the card trying), any idea as to which shop would offer best prices and help to install as well?

Graphic card is one of the easiest parts to install.... just slot the card in, screw it to the casing and plug the psu cables to it. U dont need a shop staff to do a simple thing like that. Lol.. just google how to do it.

well i dun think u will have any hidden cost so long its below S$400 dollar. above it u will have to pay a few extra cost.

yes ur mobo and psu should be sufficient for zotac. and if u can try to self install. but if u still dun want to get your hands dirty, u can ask the shopkeeper that sells the gpu to install for u. (of cos i wouldn't know how much they charging.) so u dun need to move around your case again (which im not sure how heavy..)

1080p@144 might have some low fps issues with gtx1070. Capable but not great. If can get triple fan model like strix or amp extreme may be a better choice, at least can tune the fans up a notch and get 80deg temps. my 2cents

Low fps may be more of CPU bottleneck. Best if TS can find cheap Ivy Bridge Core i7 too...

Well u dun need to do it fast like them. Take your time to insert to the right PCI-E slots and also make sure your case expansion slots dun have anything to block it. Just align your position properly and then slot in.

But most of us would rather u buy EVGA than Asus. Cos we are not sure if Asus Taiwan will help process the RMA or u have to send back to USA for rma.

Yes, you will have to pay GST. You will see an item "Import fees deposit" of USD32.68 on check-out. This is for GST which Amazon will pay on your behalf.

I assume you got "615SGD" using internet conversion rates. Do note that the actual conversion rate will be higher. Add 3 or 4 percent.

Hi, does that mean that the price shown at checkout is the final amount I will pay, because the price shown there alr includes the import fees deposit?

Hi, is the MSI GTX 1070 GTX Gaming X 8GB a better choice, or is the EVGA one the best choice?

Yes. GST and shipping are both in the final price shown at checkout.

EVGA if you are buying from Amazon. Any other brand, buy locally.

Hi, just asking why only EVGA from Amazon? Also, which model of the EVGA GTX 1070 is a good choice?

As the rma for EVGA is quite good (base on one of the hwz user over here.) and if u have any issues, email to EVGA and see if they can transfer ur card to their taiwan side, so u can just send it over to EVGA taiwan and wait for it to come back. (at least your waiting time wont be longer than u send to usa.)

if u have the budget get FTW or SC (cant rmb which is better.)
