help new ssd slow write speed

hi,

might need some help from bros here, it goes something like this.

i cloned my failing hard disk to a brand new ssd yesterday. everything was ok, os able to boot, all apps able to run properly.

but when i ran a benchmark using crystaldiskmark, all my write speed was less than 20mb/s !!!??? , except for seq write speed. the ssd iam using is the same one as below.

my write speed is not even close to the ones in the review

should i rma the ssd or its user problem?

the model iam using is transcend ssd220s 240gb.

next are u using any old system btw? like SATA 1?

my motherboard is intel h110m, cpu is g4560, 8gb ddr4 ram
the motherboard comes with sata 3, 6gb/s transfer speed

i think i checked, its in auto mode. do i have to manually do it in bios?

You should do benchies on an empty SSD. I suspect you are doing benchies on an SSD which is almost full.

ok, currently ssd is 52% capacity

If SEQ is meeting specs but the rest are not is most likely configuration issues...

In that case, your figures are unusually low. I just tested on the same SSD at 71% full and the write figures were all way above 20MB/s.

year is 2008, WD 500gb, blue 16mb cache. 512bytes?

you might actually need to defrag it if you <strike>need</strike> (EDIT: did) a low level clone over. Cos all the pieces are still in the same places. This is the one and only time you should do it. This explains a fast seq R/W but a slow R/W access speed.
