this video might help u decide between 3gb or 6gb. but given the price of the palit 6gb on lazada (314), it might be better to get the 6gb one.

If 1060 is going to be your long term card, go for 6gb. 3Gb if u planning to change gpu like <2 years. Reason being most games now do not fully utilize the full 3gb vram with a few exception of course. Future games however have higher chances of using more vram.

2 years is also generally the time a new series is released.

But its alot more pricey right

well... palit gtx 1070 retails for $555 on lazada.. zotac 1070 mini retails for 579.. plus you get some savings from codes etc and CC rebates.. its a good deal and worth the $200 jump from 1060.

I bought the 1070 recently and was playing Assasins Creed Syndicate. I noted for certain scenes fps was 30+ and took up alot of GPU processing, gpu temp remained fairly low <70c... Settings were all Ultra High (except for AA). If you are playing newer AAA titles, i would suggest going for the 1070 which could at least buffer you for the next 2.5years-3yrs.

Assasins creed usually use the same game engine for their games for couple of years and Syndicate is new game engine release in 2015. I would assume that is same for other game developers.

If planning to upgrade to 1440p <2 years then by all means go for 1070. If not, you won't see much difference in performance at 1080p@60hz so why spend more?

When the new series comes out around 2 years later i believe the xx60 will be comparable to the present 1070 judging from the gpu trend so it wont be too late and certainly more affordable to upgrade to 1440p then
