The rig is mainly for gaming. Hopefully can get some playable frame rates or 60fps on ultra settings 1080p on games like gta5, fallout4 and csgo.

Don't need monitor, I already thinking of going for the Dell S2316H IPS 23 Inch monitor. Wifi adapter i think need, my room far from the modem.

TLDR; $1.3k budget not including monitor but need wifi adapter.

I am on a budget here. An SSD will easily cost me another $70 for 120gb. I mean it's not necessary right? SSD is more of a luxury item for poor chaps like me.

Actually I think you will need a SSD. The loading time and boot time is much better than traditional Hard Disk.

You can already get 240GB for less than $100 these days. And they're definitely affordable and dirt cheap even by yesteryear's standard. You are certainly not buying for its capacity but rather for its performance advantage for overall system responsiveness. So it is no longer a luxury item.

And don't belittle the power of your $1300....

CPU+MB: Intel Core i5-4460 + ASUS Trooper B85 @ $385 (PC Themes)
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM DDR3L-1600 CL11 8GB @ $44+3'

CASE: Corsair Carbide 100R @ $70+7"

Wow..Bro you're of tremendous help! I love you bro, no homo.

Few questions though:
1. Won't the SSD be kind of an over kill? Could the money be used on getting a i5 6500?

2. Will this setup be easy to upgrade in future? Because I heard nowadays all the new CPU MOBO using DDR4 instead of DDR3.

3. Is the Zotac Gtx 970 less capable than let's say other Gtx 970 manufacturers like Gigabyte, MSI, Asus and Palit?

4. Some of the parts you stated like the GPU here is like $69 cheaper than from the price from PC Themes, where do I purchase this exactly?

5. I heard that R9390 is the equivalent of the GTX 970. But why in this case the GTX 970 is recommended instead?

6. Last but not least, if I were to get a 60hz IPS 1080p monitor, would it be wasted for this setup? Because I heard the GTX 970 is capable of producing pretty good fps in high settings.

Thank you once again! If i could kiss you i would. No homo though.

1. SSD is not overkill, Skylake CPU price is.

2. The next time you change PC you would also change RAM too. Like how many early DDR3 adopters during Nehalem era were reluctant to reuse their DDR3 sticks for new Haswell setups.

3. They are all GTX 970. Cooling performance, acoustics and clock speeds will vary but this Zotac is decent.

4. Follow link from Lazada. Listing directly from local distributor.

5. R9-390 performs slightly faster but they are expensive ($500+) and their huge typical power consumption difference (~70W). The extra 4.5GB VRAM on R9-390 wouldn't make it more useful since performance will bottleneck way before their VRAM gets tapped.

6. Latest heavy titles will only find it just nice to push 50-60fps...

Damn..I learn a lot from you. But still very curious. More questions here:

1. Why WD Blue 1TB when I can get Seagate 1TB for cheaper?

2. Why out of all the other brands for PSU, like let's say the Seasonic and the Coolermaster for example, you picked the Superflower? From the price list, Seasonic and Coolermaster's 520w and 550w is like cheaper.

3. As for the case, would the Corsair Carbide 200R be of a better choice? I heard it's bigger and has more space for future upgrades. Why instead of the 200R you recommend the 100R?

4. I am most confuse by the WIFI thingy. Why out of so many wifi thingy, you picked that? From the PC Themes price list, the wifi thingys range from like $29 to $469. Why couldn't i just get the cheapest wifi thingy? Does it make a difference?

5. Would the i5-4460 be of a better choice than the i5-6500? I am mentioning the i5-6500 because that time I went to SLS and the sales guy recommended that to me to pair with a GTX 970. Why did he recommend that but you recommend this? Does it make a big difference in the fps of the games?

6. Why out of all the motherboard, you picked that?

7. Why out of all the rams, you picked that?

Sorry if i ask a lot of question bro, but I am the kind of person who like to know reasoning behind stuff so I can be more informed before making decisions. By doing this I can also help those who might encounter the same problems and will get to find the readied answers here instead of being clueless and starting another thread.

Thanks bro, hope I don't take much of your time. You are awesome.

Thanks bro, hope I don't take much of your time. You are awesome.

1. WD Blue drive is of better reliability among all cheaper 1TB drive.

2. Superflower PSU is arguably one of the best PSU and at the cost you can't get any better.

3. 100R suits your need and is able to expand further when you need to upgrade. Can save a bit more why not?

4. Sure you can get the cheapest wifi dongle but you will be sacrificing speed. Unless you tell me your router doesn't supports AC. TP-Link Archer is a faster dongle at a cheaper price.

5. For this I'll recommend Skylake since it is of newer architecture with DDR4 RAM but you'll need to spend more on these. Performance difference not much difference and 4460 should still be able to last you another 3 years minimum. FPS is more of your GPU than your CPU. for this, I'll leave it to you whether you want to spend a bit more.

6. As for mobo, it will be tagged to what you choose for your processor. Since he has picked a 4460 processor, that mobo is compatible with that and the cheaper one. If you want Skylake then of cos you'll need to choose a B170/H170 mobo.

7. RAM as per mention, your mobo and CPU only supports DDR3 thus he picked that. Skylake will of cos go with DDR4. You don't need any fanciful RAM for gaming. A normal one without heatsink works as well too.

Though wifi is a good solution for you, I find that if you are far away from the router, your money might be better spent on home plugs. I used to use wifi adapter, specifically the intel ac 7260. But with 2 walls between my computer and the router, my connection is a bit unstable. After switching to sineoji homeplugs, I have seamless connectivity. My house is like 10+ years old.

Just my thoughts.

What's the speed of your home plug? Did you get close to what is advertised? Is the speed stable and fast?

My info should not represent actual performance because I never plug direct to wall socket. I plug to the extension power bar because I don't have a long enough lan cable. If it is plugged direct to the wall socket, it should be faster. Current setup:

From router: Router > homeplug 1 > wall socket
To computer: wall socket > extension power bar > home plug > computer

I am using the sineoji 1800 homeplug, on M1 300mbps. My speedtest is about 140-150mbps download, 110-120mbps upload.

But yes it is stable, no spikes etc.
