I am thinking of getting a new flagship Hisense TV from China (U7G-Pro). Has anyone ever shipped one in from Taobao/TMall? Wondering if there are any compatibility or connection issues!

Recently saw ads on facebook by Hisense SG. Seems like they have came to Singapore and the U7G looks damn good for the price. $1399 for 65 inch with FALD, decently good full screen and peak brightness (400nits and 700 nits) and it’s a VA panel (5000:1 contrast). It even seems to have MEMC and judder removal for 24p content. For almost the same price u can only get a 300 nit IPS TV from prism (Q65QE Pro) with none of the above features.

Problem is they don’t seem to have a showroom, only online website and on Lazada/Shopee. Anyone bought before?

One thing to note though is that the U7G here is totally different from the USA U7G, and likewise for all the hisense TVs sold internationally, so rtings review won’t be accurate for this. But based on the specs and rtings review, it seems like it’s a USA U6G but with 90 dimming zones and more features like VRR.

U7G Asian model is 60Hz panel and runs on VIDAA 5.
Very useful info.
Seems that a few companies are guilty of milking their US / international street cred and then sell us inferior products..
I guess buyers here aren't as discerning at the budget end of the spectrum and there are very few local reviews apart from the glowing 'reviews' of Prism online..
Everytime I hit FB, there's an ad and there is always 'limited' stock

If VA panel , TCL, iFfalcon or samsung is a bettter choice with similar price range
For $1399 i don’t think you can find any TV from the brands you mentioned that comes close to the asian 65 inch U7G specs. For example, Samsung AU8000 65 inch is already $2185, it’s VA but no quantum dot so reduced colour gamut, low brightness according to rtings review, no FALD. Same goes for the other brands. At $1399, i think the only thing i’ll complain about is the lack of Android TV OS. I don’t think can expect 4k 120hz at this price in singapore :s13:

Not totally different. The U7G is likely the same as the Australian version and is still 120Hz native panel. This means effectively the only difference is the HDMI 2.1 ports for 4K@120Hz. So most of the reviews regarding the US U7G (especially the superior visual qualities) still applies to this "degraded" U7G.

Whether you really need this 120Hz function at 4K is debatable nowadays. although VRR was designed for games in mind, with VRR you don't need a 120Hz panel anymore (unlike the old days where audio) to have correct 24fps playback of HD movies, as the panel can support 48Hz (and I think I read somewhere this particular panel can do 24hz also). For gaming if the fps can sustain above 45fps is already pretty good, moreover if playing FPS I rather use a "small" monitor for the closeup actions. And you still can play 1080@120 and (I believe) 1440@120 too, being a native 120Hz panel.

For the price, you can find QLED, FALD in almost any brand, but not QLED+FALD. There's literally nothing better for the price, not even other brands at twice the price. In fact I don't think there's any at all.

The only concern is the reliability and durability, and warranty support. As hisense SG is only a distributor, not hisense itself.

Ok it's getting confusing, seems U7G Thailand and Malaysia have 60Hz panel and the former has HDMI 2.1 (for what??), yet hisense SG states "Smooth Motion 240" in one picture and "Smooth Motion Rate 120" in the specs, although there's also a line stating 60Hz refresh rate. Can't tell whether is 60 or 120 native.....cos generally brands like to quote motion rate of double the native.

But ultimately for a TV the key is still visual qualities. If have to choose between QLED or FALD or 120Hz for the price, it is a no brainer. And better still U7G gives BOTH QLED and FALD.

Glad to know there's finally at least a distributor bringing in the full-array Hisense models.

Agreed that though the SG U7G lacks the 120hz panel, HDMI 2.1 ports and probably nerfed Local Dimming implementation, it is still a VA Panel with a Full Array Local Dimming System and Quantum Dot Filter. At the price of $1299, it is at least cheaper than the Sony X90J 55" ($2000 +-) and the TCL C825 MiniLED 55" ($2000 +-). A somewhat decent deal (not too amazing since it lacks 4K 120hz) for something that is at least not from a carousel / parallel importer.

Similar to what others have pointed out, it's still a different set compared to the well-received U.S U7G which RTINGs had reviewed. It would be great if Hisense SG brings in all the U.S variants for future models so that the reputable reviews from rtings and hdtvtest can be relevant and it will give an idea on its actual performance in data coming from calibration tools.

i just cancel my prism QE 65 pro to get this model and I totally regret it. Wish I saw this thread earlier as I thought it has 2 port of HDMI 2.1.
I even confirm with hisense tech support if it has hdmi 2.1 and they reply yes!
end up they confused hdcp 2.2 if hdmi 2.1. Actually told me their hdmi 2.2 which is better than 2.1
At the moment, my top of my screen had darken patches, still waiting for the tech support to see if they will change it.

Will keep you guys updated

I also found no options to side load apps on this andriod 10 TV which is strange
any idea?
so far the experience had been disappointing.
without the option to side load application, without google playstore, Voice control i have to press the microphone button on the remote control to open youtube.... i might as well directly press the youtube button right?

Do you need the 60Hz in the first place....? For FPS gaming (that actually need high fps) I prefer the immersion of the curved gaming monitor. For driving anything above 45fps i feel is sufficient, but the curved gaming monitor is still way immersive. I do love text-based gaming, Cities Skylines, Civ...etc, on a TV. Speaking of which, the Chroma subsampling test is excellent, 4:4:4 is literally perfect and even 422 and 420 is very readable (i have seen poor sampling from name brands...). But remember you must use 444 mode for Windows to output HDR and WCG.

Next, the input lag, ie how fast can your 60hz or 120Hz Tv or monitor can keep up with the 60fps or 120fps of your game? Can support 120Hz doesn't meant you get smooth 120fps gameplay. I have not felt noticeable lag whether I enable Gamemode or not, then again I did not run much games yet. Radeon did not detect Freesync on the TV. I did not notice any oddity when play games 47-59fps. Maybe lower fps, but I don't know. There's indication on screen when ALLM is on but no indication for VRR.

I will write a bit more later to share my 2wk experience on the U7G so far, most important of all, the visual quality. But as a whole, QLED+FALD is EXCELLENT, especially for the price.
