Hey guys!

Just wondering.. what are some of the "tricks" do you have to hit your CC minimum spending? Apart from the info that is online (pay bills, petrol, pay meals and reimburse later, etc.). I don't have a huge commitment at the moment (no car/petrol/housing costs), and previously I am able to hit $500 easily due to online purchases.

Have greatly reduced this online purchases and slightly tough to hit even just $500 monthly now, but do require it for UOB One account..

Hope you guys could share your experiences! Thank you all!

I'm using CardUp to pay Income Tax with the UOB One card. Helps contribute to the min spend per month too

Banks closing loopholes to improve profitability.
Not everything is a "loophole."

It's safe to assume that credit card issuers are delighted if you spend more on their cards than you otherwise would, preferably with some cardholders reliably paying high interest and late fees. (Defaults they generally don't like.) Their business interests are pretty clear. Accelerating (bringing forward) some planned spending isn't too bad either. That still puts merchant transaction fees in the card issuers' pockets sooner rather than later, and (even if the bill is paid on time), it pulls funds out of bank accounts that they don't have to pay even meagre interest on. (And banks in Singapore really aren't suffering for lack of deposits.)

The banks are going to get upset really only when incentivized card spending is really not spending but rather for trading into cash and cash equivalents.

Anyway, they know how the game is played as well as anyone does. I wouldn't get paranoid about it. If you're able to play the game (within the rules -- no breaking the law, please) better than your bank expected, congratulations and enjoy. However, probably your bank expected it. You see, a part of the game is making you think you got a "secret," "special" deal. If that's what you want to think, no problem.

hi, I am also applying for the UOB one account with the UOB ONE credit card.

Also want to know how to hit the $500 credit cause most of my meals pay cash at hawker center or kopitam card, those cant count also.

Then there is the cashcard and ezlink card for transport that also they dont count as credit spend.

The trolls are out in force today...and not even internally logical this time.

FairPrice gift vouchers are excellent.
