doesnt matter whether via expedia or zuji or direct or thru agent

it all depends on the ticket class

if heavily discounted, unlikely got miles

trying to accumulate miles via flying is usually not significant, unless u fly like full fare business.
collect miles via CC spend more substantial

Also can choose seat on TG online once login using Booking Reference & Traveller Name.

different airline, different policies ...

tried booking on expedia , flying cathay to hk, even after keying the booking id and name, also cannot select seats immediately after your booking.
need wait abt 2 days before depature...

normally prefer to fly SQ to Hong Kong ...
even though cathay price might be cheaper by about 10+ to 40+

SQ have 30kg checked in luggage,
cathay only 20kg checked in luggage ...

SQ can choose seats when u r making booking online ...
Cathay you must wait until few days before departure to choose

SQ depart and arrive at terminal 3.
nicer airport, with nicer carpets, more charging ports, compared to terminal 1, where cathay depart ...

however SQ lowest price 248sgd, must travel at a not so good timing ...
for other timing and aircraft, such as depart
Sin to HK - 8+ am
HK to Sin - 2+ pm
both via a380 aircraft, price is about 280+
which is about 40+ sgd more expensive than cathay ...

however, cathay last mth have very good promo
fly bkk 178, hk 240+ , taipei 398 ....
guess the promo have ended ...

else u can wait scoot promo ...

normally if price is good, would give it a try
just like for example, if selected date, cathay and SQ is super expensive
united airline is cheap, I would still fly with united airline

if your travel date, budget airline is more expensive
why not try united airline ...

For budget there is airlines like tiger going like $210+ and Cathay around $300. Is this consider the normal rate already? Because I very long never go HK le, so don't know whats the standards like.

budget airline promo normally 152 for jetstar ,,, scoot also about 140 sgd
tiger about 120sgd ...

full fledged airline, cathay is usually 230 to 248 onwards
sq is normally 248 onwards ...
