HK Flight Promo

managed to book the Cathay promo at $268 (but it became $264.60 instead). today last day.

i just noticed there is this No Show Fee of $150!
stating that if i failed to show up, must pay this amount.
i didnt know there's such a fee.
so meaning if i really cannot make it, they will charge this fee to my credit card or what?
can someone enlighten me?

Yeah, no show fee is common. That is why people try to sell away the ticket and make people pay the name change fee. Or just ask to see if you can change the dates by paying a fee.

hmm, this fare is an offer price, stated cannot change name and other changes are charged at $200, so no point, and these i sort of knew in advance.
i just didnt know abt the No Show Fee.
i've paid for the seat what, so end up i didnt check in is my own loss mah,
still need to charge me another $150? really arh?

haa see this clause before. But they can like that charge ur cc without ur approval meh ?

i also dunno wor.

i never paid attention to this clause before as i always book tix very close
to departure, not much chance of no show,
but this time cos of the promo i booked 1 mth in advance, not 100% sure nothing
would crop up...

No-show fees are usually charged by airline, if you missed a flight, and want to refund or re-use the value of the ticket.

Refund after the travel dates has passed = $Ticket value - $No Show Fee - $admin fee

If you missed the flight and do not want to refund from the airline, you will not be charged the no-show fee ( nothing will be charged to your credit card )

Some airlines will also charge you the no-show fee ( plus close-in rebooking fee ) if you last min change your flight less than 24-48 hours before departure.

Heard of the no-show fee before but didn't really find out more.

If you have a valid reason for missing the flight, can claim under travel insurance right? Can use that amount to offset the no-show fee. (Correct me if I am wrong)

Can please GPGT the receipt for the $197 nett ticket? I fly SQ very often but I don't remember them ever having such a promo to HK.

Yup..
Recently they often have promo with maybank, instead of credit, I opened an account and get the debit to purchase tickets since I fly on cathay often for personal trips.
