Honor Magic V5 to come in a shiny new color

Honor is rumored to be skipping the number 4 and going from the Magic V3 which launched last year to the Magic V5 which we're expecting in a few weeks (blame tetraphobia).

Now a new rumor out of China purportedly shares the Magic V5's colorways, and one stands out - gold. It used to be all the rage many years ago, then it fell out of fashion, and while you can still find hints of it here and there, it's been a while since we've had a properly shiny gold smartphone.

A past leak from the same source claimed the Magic V5 would come with a 6,100 mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging. Other rumors have said it would be under 9 mm thick, retaking the thinness crown from the Oppo Find N5, and it should come with a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera apparently, an 8-inch folding screen, a 6.45-inch cover display, and the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC at the helm.

Honor Magic V5 launch date confirmed

Michail, 18 June 2025
Honor revealed the launch date for its upcoming Magic V5. The device is set to go official on July 2 at a dedicated launch event in Shenzhen, China. The event is set to begin at 7PM local time (2PM UTC) and will also include other new Honor devices.
Honor Magic V5 launch date confirmed

Magic V5 is expected to offer some sizeable advantages over the Magic V3, including a larger 6,100mAh battery with 66W charging, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version chip.
The upcoming foldable is also expected to bring a shockingly thin design, measuring under 9mm thick. If this pans out, Magic V5 will be the thinnest foldable to date, dethroning Oppo’s Find N5, which stands at 8.9mm. Magic V5 is also expected to offer an 8-inch main screen and a 6.45-inch cover display.

already confirmed from many sources, it will be 8.8mm, 1mm lesser than oppo find n5.

This year new colour is gold, which replaces the last year green. I must say the gold colour looks very good.

Looks really good... but dunno if worth it to upgrade from Honor Magic v3
to me is no...
all those specs bump... real time usage is can't tell a diff...
huge battery, if v3 can last u whole day.. then v5 still will last whole day.
I think honor more focusing on AI for this model... unless u AI siao...
screen size still the same.
camera... I seldom take photo on v3... cui one.
the whole phone looks almost the same as v3.

basically u upgrade to reset warranty only. which is a good thing.... cuz v3 warranty expires soon liao... any thing happen, repair is a bomb.
