After a quiet exit from the Singapore market in early 2019, Honor is now back in mid-2023, with several shakeups to its phone offerings and naming conventions.

It can get confusing if you’ve not been in touch with the brand, especially since it first started out as a 2013 spin-off from Huawei’s mobile phones before changing its ownership to a Shenzhen state-owned enterprise in 2020.

The change in ownership is also why it has access to the Google Play app store and Google Mobile Services since the ongoing US trade restrictions don’t reach that far with Chinese brands. Despite the switch, Honor has kept up with its suppliers and partners to ensure it can compete like any other big brand-name Android smartphone.

Within Honor’s phone lineup, the Magic series typically consists of its best smartphone efforts at the flagship level, as evident from the Honor Magic5 Pro in this article. It’s also where Honor parks its experimentation and innovations, like the foldable Honor Magic V and V2 and its periscopic zoom lenses.

The N series (like the Honor 90 phones here) is an equal alternative to its Magic series, which also consists of models carrying flagship-grade components. The N and Magic series are similarly priced, although the N series comes without fancy features or unnecessary bells and whistles.

Its mid-range offering is the Honor X series, with the Honor X9a encompassing functionality and affordability before a phone user could ask for anything else.

Honor’s phone offerings don’t just end there, although these three are probably the most prominent Honor phone series you’ll see (for now) since they are all officially supported and sold in Singapore.

Hi gurus, any idea how I can enable VOLTE calls on honor x7a?

My aunt was previously on Singtel Prepaid for honor X7a, now switched to Simba but calls in and out not working.

Confirmed is VOLTE problem as when I tried my Giga sim card incoming and outgoing calls are fine.

1. There is no enable VOLTE calls option under Settings > Mobile network > Mobile Data.

2. Tried dialling *#*#4636#*#* but kicked me back to dialer.

Any idea how I can enable VOLTE calls on honor x7a?

For honor phones, it seems that volte will show with latest updated Magic OS.
That's what we all got in our honor magic 5 pro phones. Without the update, it wasn't showing volte. Hope it helps. Cheers and wishing everyone a very Happy Chinese New Year filled with great wealth, health and joy.

If phone is not supported, make and receive calls through the Simba voice app.
