The reviews at tripadvisor seem very bad. At first wanted to try this hotel since is new and location at xmd area, but now I drop the idea of staying.

Highly Recommended!!
No doubt the hotel is still under pretty major renovations, but i can see a Sheraton Grande Taipei Hotel alike in the making. It's definitely going to be a fantastic hotel in the future and thus I think you guys should give it a try before they shoot up the prices of their rooms once their renovation is complete.

Location: Located at XiMen MRT station exit 4 (doesn't requires you to cross any road), it is directly opposite exit 1(XiMenDing shopping area). There is a convenient store located at ground level of the same building, so you can get your mineral water/ice/drinks etc; from there and don't have to carry it all the way from across the street. It's easy to grab a cab around the hotel as well at any time of the day/night.

Room: Big, spacious, clean, comfortable (bed as well) . Even has a small sofa in the room and i could even invite my Taiwanese friends over for some drinks and catching up and they were all really impressed with the hotel room. Has an empty mini fridge to store your items, has about 100+ Tv channels including star movies/HBO/Fox/wei shi movie channel etc; to keep you occupied during your rest.

They are very alert for their house keeping as 1 of the days we left the room in the late afternoon and turned on the housekeeping indicator though the housekeeping process could have already passed our room due to our Do Not Disturb indicator earlier. But to my surprise, they managed to backtrack and our room was tidied up by evening.

I don't understand why are there so many "complaints" about this hotel due to its renovation. Probably I am out of the hotel most of the time and only gets back to offload my shopping items and take a rest at night so I don't find the renovation process bothering at all. So if you aren't a picky hotel guest like me and is just looking for a good bargain with spacious room, comfy bed, and a good location for your rest in Taipei, I would recommend you to try it! :)

All these are based on my personal opinions but i hope it helps!!

Oh, and 1 more thing to share.
If you guys are looking to get a cab from XiMenDing to Tao Yuan International Airport, most of the cab would charge about NT1000-1200.

I managed to get a cab who do such services at only NT900.
His contact number is 0961400673
His last name is 谢(xie). I called him 谢先生.
For taiwan no. you have to +886

Have a good holiday, everyone!!!!
