Probably not lah… but edmw being the huge connoisseurs of Rolex watches, would impact their sales… so considering the reputational damage, they will need to do something. 🤣

back in the old days , people buy rolex , replace bezel to diamond bezel , leather strap change to gold strap.

And if you bring in for repair , Rolex will not repair , got to change back to original for repair.
Bingo. Edmw really many experts and hidden dragons.

Abit hao siao. Rolex cannot tahan 30 years then service. Mine 2006 but and assuming got occasionally wear. 2015 rotor already got the racing clutch ringing sound.

It was common in the 90's to add diamonds to a full gold ladies datejust. Dial, Bracelet and Bezel. I've handled and seen such pieces with 90's Hour Glass and other local ADs receipts which shows what was added to the watch. Whether it was made known to the buyer at that time, I'm not sure. RSC is not wrong as it wasn't factory original.

This chap bought a Rolex 69178 (yellow gold) from the hour glass, and also bought those custom bezels and bracelets, probably encrusted with some precious stones.

Rolex is known to not sell bracelets and diamond bezels separately, so all of these custom made stuff will not be recognised by them.

He does not have a case against The Hour Glass at all. If he had opted for a set that came with the original diamond bezel, it would easily cost him an arm and a leg (nowadays the price difference for a lady’s model with an original diamond bezel vs one without is around $10k, if I remember correctly). And THG would have made this clear to him back then.

1. I am straight, I don't wear a woman watch
2. It hasn't been wore again since it needed repair
I think I understand now. Uncle, you feel heartache, paid so much for the watch and to be rejected by Rolex servicing center when it needed its first repair and by that time 10+ years had transpired. What a shock it must have been.

My only suggestion is go find a reputable 3rd party Rolex servicing agent so your wife can wear the watch again. One thing your watch can’t do is to undo time and go back to 1995 for you to kan the salesman for not being transparent with you that the watch he sold you with the add-on decorations actually contravenes Rolex’s servicing policy, which has invariably denied you the rights to have your watch serviced by the manufacturer for the last 30 years. And whether they informed you or not , no evidence liao you say a they say b.

do have the title of your thread corrected la lest you be charged with libel. I don’t think it’s fake, but rather, the add-ons were not factory condition but post factory after market customisations. Hour glass would have informed customers that such customisations will be rejected by Rolex servicing centre and the only recourse is to put back the original parts and replace later after servicing. Just like those sports cars with after market non-LTA approved parts , they will go workshop put back the original , go for LTA inspection then go back workshop to swap back for their aftermarket parts.

"After 10+ years need repairs..."

But receipt says 29 years watch.

Come on, it does not add up.

Hour Glass has reason to ignore you.

If I were ts 1995 I would not buy simi ladies datejust. I would go in buy GMT master at 3k a piece then wear one and keep the rest as new old stock. Now bring out sell can laugh and earn big money. Dun even dare to open thread here complaining.
