Is **** a forbidden word here? do you think is is an offensive slur? if it is, why dont you censor it?

my thread was not offensive in any way. would you still infract me if it **** was replaced with other words?

example:

Is today some JHK festival?

Jurong bird park full of JHK. JHK accent. 80% of them. Why ah?

Is today some American festival?

Jurong bird park full of American. American accent. 80% of them. Why ah?

if the above 2 examples won't get infraction. does it mean you have double standards when it comes to moderation? is **** some sort of forbidden word?

this is probably the elephant in the room on this forum. hoping for some senior mod/admin's reply on this. I moderated big/small/local/international forums/boards too. Unfair moderation is the main reason a forum dies off.

personally, it just sounds like you guys are saying "yes, we have double standard for the word -****"

alright. if i rephrase the word from **** to indian. can i recreate the thread without getting infraction?

Is today some Indian festival?

Jurong bird park full of Indian. Indian accent. 80% of them. Why ah?

based on the past incidents that happened in this forum. im pretty sure i will get infraction too.

allow me to say it blatantly here. most of the mods/admin seems to be hypersensitive when it comes to india. we dont see you banning/penalize anything when people used other racist slurs like AT, jhk.

it's great if you guys want to set a tone and discourage racism in this forum. but i'd humbly ask you guys dont practice double standards when it comes to this topic. it's causing increasing displeasure among the members here. certain mods' trigger happy behavior makes edmw a dull place. hence the declining traffic every month. hope their behavior wont expedite the site's demise.

this is my feedback, edmw used to be fun. it entertained me for years during my boring working days. i hate to see it go down the path like many other forums : completely dead due to having unreasonable mods around.

by saying this, i know some mods will mark me. but it's ok. im saying these specifically to @Dragon . it seems he is one of the few that still reasonable and still keep an open mind. i wish the team relook into mods quality and make the necessary changes you deem fit. cheers and good luck

I also asked to know the community of a (potential) criminal. Liddat cannot? It's how humans protect their lives by deducing patterns and drawing useful information throughout their lives. From men in the street to scholars to elites to politicians. Now have to learn from some triggered Mod or some triggered 'reporter' how we go about protecting our lives, teaching me 'there is no pattern'? You want me to look at a terrorist and say 'hey it's ok to mix with his gang'? :s13:
You also telling me it's perfectly ok to mix with the community of a known druggie until I've got proof of the next druggie to avoid the next one. You think I got time to react if one of them decides to inject me with something?

I think the question to ask is why do you need to start a thread to point that out?

Why is it a concern?
Have you thought about how the minority community feel about such a topic?
It's like pointing them out, which equates to discrimination.

And it's not about mods getting hypersensitive, the community at large - whether they are participating in the forum or not - does not condone such commentary (hence the topic/post getting reported) since it just leads toward unnecessary and unsavoury comments.

Putting aside all forthcoming comments, I will agree that your new suggested thread title is harmless. What usually ensues, isn't. The operating keywords are 'what ensues'.

If the comments aren't demeaning, there's no reason to take action, but more often than not, it does.
