I feel most users will find 4GB more than sufficient for their usage considering that most only have a 1080P kind of monitor. I believe even 1440P should run well without a sharp decline in performance due to lack of VRAM. At least this is for my case.
my laptop using 4gb, more then enough for daily usage, hardly I watch any video larger than 1080P~
