Alpha 1 and 2 have the same installation procedure. Just drop the 3 files Irecovery, moboot and ROM) into cminstall and issue the acmeinstaller command.
You can flash GAPPS after that via recovery.

HERE you go for the instruction and DL links.

I tried dropping all 4 but the GAPPS wasn't installed. Maybe you can try. For my case also I have to install (via recovery) like 2 times then reboot then the Market will come out. :s22:

Hahaaa - Now i see the diff "update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a1-fullofbugs" is alpha 1 and "update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a2.1-fullofbugs"

I abit confused and dumb asking - how do you "flash" Gapps for market in case it doesn't appear?

Reboot into recovery then flash it there. You'll see the option in the recovery. But before that of course must download the flashable GAPPS file first lah.

Is anyone else having a problem with the download link for ACMEInstall? I click it, it gives me a countdown on goo-inside, and then takes me to a directory listing instead of starting the download. I tried it in IE9 and Chrome, same result.

A method which some ppl used was to wait for the countdown to come to zero and then quickly clicking on the stop button on your browser before it loads to that page. You will then see a link which u can click to download the file.

did you wipe cache/dalvik before you flashed gapps? And also, you don't need to run acme evrytime to flash from alpha 1 to 2.1 and vice versa. You just need to put your flashable file which is the file named ' update-cm-7.1.0...........' in your SD card and whenever u feel like it, you could just go to recovery, wipe cache/dalvik, wipe data/factory reset and just install zip from SD card. Simple as that...no need to use ur comp, everything is done by the touchpad. Also backup your apps using titanium backup if you are worried about losing your apps so u could restore them after you flash. Just fyi, alpha 1 has the infamous sod bug which might cause problems so I suggest you update to a2.1 so you have a much less buggier version and also you could have a smooth update when the next release comes out.

Well, I have overcome the wifi problem. The system doesn't allow me to directly connect on remembered wep account. All I did was just cancel the existing wifi account, scan again then click my wifi to enter password again. My wifi password ain't so difficult to key. Once I key in the password, it start to obtain IP address and VOILA connected.

It a bug whereby it doesn't allow auto and direct connect. I think it may need to step by step > scan then connect. I'm using my touchpad now to reply this post. @:)

Actually I bought 3 touchpad altogether. Flash Alpha 1 for my fren's and mine alpha 2.1. Indeed, his got more stable wifi. For me alpha 2, just need to "forget" the remember wifi acc and connect it with password again every single time. Some period eg. 1hr of sleep later, wifi need to reset and reconnect again.

And also for the front camera. Sometime it work, sometime down giving error saying cannot detect camera for alpha 2 (mine).

Let hope a better version to be out soon to remove all these bugs.

is the android for touch pad moving beyond alpha 2 ?

Ya. I think Alpha 3 is coming. Besides, there's a patch for the SoD. I just patched it. Seems OK so far. Usually if I put the tablet running Android overnight, morning sure black screen and have to reset one. Last night OK.
