I actually got the answer in jan

: Jan 2025 Bonus Interest (BI) registration is now on a customer level – if you registers for your sole, all joint will be included.

We will look into each account’s incremental ADB and accord the BI respectively.
Not sure abt previous TnC. If I read correctly, the current Feb TnC states that if register with sole EGA acct, then this registration applies to the Joint EGA acct too. If register with Joint EGA acct, then it applies only to Joint EGA acct. Sole EGA acct not registered.

How do u tell this?
From the latest Feb TnC. It was specifically stated in Clause 1. Extracted below :

By registering for this Promotion with their Sole EGA number via SMS, customer agrees to registration and participation for all Eligible Accounts with his/her name as an account holder, including Joint EGAs. Any withdrawal of registrations will apply to all Eligible Accounts under the customer’s name. Should customer choose to register for this Promotion with their Joint EGA number via SMS, only the Joint EGA will be registered.

Anyone know if the HSBC Everyday+ Rewards Programme still available? If so with the EGA promotion in Feb then at least we can get 3.6-3.7% for one month?

I have both sole EGA account and joint EGA account. I participated in Jan using sole EGA account. Does the following T&C mean that I can still participate this month using my joint account?

“Should customer choose to register for this Promotion with their Joint EGA number via SMS,
only the Joint EGA will be registered.”

You already auto-enrolled your joint account in Jan when you registered using sole account so the new registration this month will be invalid.

I just used the chat services and was informed that sole account registration will be invalid if any of the joint accounts have been enrolled in an earlier month.

Wonder how it works now. Current TnC stated if register sole account, all its joint accts be registered as well.
I registered only my joint account for Jan EGA bonus, so only this account is applicable. Now in Feb, I decided to register one of the sole account for Feb EGA bonus, by right all its joint acct be registered too, but this joint acct was previous registered on Jan EGA bonus, which then would be regarded as not eligible.

I asked cos if need to do merry go round between sole & joint accounts to reap the additional monthly 1% incremental bonus interest, need to carefully study how it can work now.
In the same situation as you. If anyone knows if the sole account still able to register for Feb EGA, kindly help to share. Thank you.

This sole/joint is new.

Thanks for your sharing but I would not just rely on a chat agent's word.
Seek answer from service manager/RM for a more reliable answer.
If they are in doubt too, they will ask the product team who is the final authority on this.

Agree, it's just one data point.

The chat agent was initially confused too and after educating her on the new terms and conditions, she went to check and came back with this answer after some time.

Who she check with is important, a fellow agent or her manager?
Given HSBC "everyone on the same page" rather dismal track record in change management, I would still be skeptical unless it is from the product team.

Based on its TnC, the sole acct surely will still be qualified for Feb promo since in Jan, it was enrolled using its joint account instead. The question is for Feb enrolment using sole acct which will also auto enrol all its joint accts, how will the joint acct enrolled in Jan promo be treated? Override previous enrolment or it will not be qualified since it was previously enrolled in Jan (as per Feb promo TnC, if enrolled in Jan, will not qualify)
Guess I will ask my RM to help check & confirm.
HSBC keeps making all these complex bonus interest tnc, incurring so much hassle to customers n their CSO.....if not for their attractive rebates, long time run road already...sigh.
It is also because of them, large money xfers between non HSBC banks regularly caused other banks to call me, suspend acct for potential scams...etc. Sigh sigh...

I just received a shocker. My wife premier credit card was charged with an annual fee of 490.50. When request for fee waiver, was rejected. So request for card cancellation, was also rejected. OMG, ask why? CSO said must pay the annual fee & card cannot be cancelled. What rubbish is this? so ask what options do we have, CSO just say must pay. KNN this HSBC, getting on my nerves.
Tmr will check with my RM. Wonder if anyone sees similar issue?
