Battery wear and cannot retain a good charge hence bootloop when it cannot maintain a certain voltage during operation. Just change a new battery and it will be fixed.

Hi, when you mentioned bootloop... Is it like the phone will just keep rebooting itself after power up?

Yes. This is the same reason why Apple throttle their iPhone speeds as the battery ages; to prevent bootloop due to insufficient voltage from the batteries.

Hey that sounds pretty cheap! But what about the evaluation fee that they charge? O: do we need to pay for that?

I would go for the service centre if not for them telling me that they swapped my battery when in fact they didn't because my battery couldn't have degraded that much in less than 4 months.

From what I recall that should be the final price inclusive of GST. But you may want to call HTC support to confirm before deciding.

Contacted HTC. Price of battery replacement is $59.00, devices out of warranty need additional $32.10 evaluation fee.

Was quoted the following 2 mths ago when I visited the official service centre at The Central:

Local set: $24.60 to change battery

Non-local set: $24.60 + $53.50 (global warranty surcharge)

Price looks reasonable IMO, but I vaguely remember some crap turnaround time of 5+ days for local set. Non-local set was estimated in weeks! :s22::s22:

Good to know. Once I get U12+, shall change there.

GWMobile quoted me 80 with batt, 60 without.
did not get my batt changed there as the assistant also broke my phone cover.

went to another shop at burlington square, got quoted 80 with batt, and 40 without, so decided to get it done there.

summary, the batt i got from taobao has problem, the connector head does not match. so in the end has to get the batt from the shop.

total damage: 80 + 5(for a new phone cover) + 19 for the batt from taobao, and 3hrs plus of waiting.

btw, they will remove your screen protector too.

Which shop is it at B.Sq? Feel like changing it asap.

last me through the day, don't have to go through a few charge a day now.

Nice. Going to replace mine at Mobile Works Repair in Tampines later. Hopefully it's all good too.

Edit: so i finally got mine changed. Mobile Works Repair doesnt have spare parts for HTC 10, but if you order your battery online he can replace for you for $35. Cheap and fast, 40 mins done alr.

Now my phone's battery feels brand new. No more random bootloops and insane battery drain

Bravo!!

I cancelled my trip down Mobile Hardware yesterday to go today. Guess what, 2 hours before I set off, the phone totally died, can't even charge. Thankfully, they managed to change the Boost I/C (as I was told by Simon) and the phone is back alive! Took 40mins & $40. Alas, I was away in SLS & they could not locate me if I want to proceed with the batt change. Not wanting to wait further, I'll bring back again.

Lucky no need to change phone haha!
