i don't know what i did but now it can connect! i think its because of the advance task killer thingy. zz i deleted that stuff already.

Anyway how to enable vibration when people sms you?

Yea.. i thought you said you didn't want the ATK? It probably killed the connection options when it tried to run..

For the sms vibration, go to Messages, hit the menu button then settings.. theres an option to turn on vibration there

i got a translucent one for my legend.looks good as my legend is red as in the top and bottom cover la.

just afraid of scratches and dropping it so decided to get a case for it.

Hi! How is the fit of the case? Does it really bulk up the unit?

I'm thinking of just applying something like the invisible shileld or the wrapsol to shield against scratches and minor bumps without compromising on the thickness.

I'm wondering if it's possible to obtain an internet connection to my phone through the connected computer through USB.

I hope to connect my phone to the internet while plugged in at work, so that all the stuff and information on it can be updated. There is no wireless internet at the workplace.

I've read some solutions, but it would require some work on the terminal.

I also read about PDAnet, but I'm not very sure if it is for the set up I want, I believe it's just tethering wherein I use the phone's connection to connect my PC to the net. I'd want the other way around.

Would this web page information work for you? Hope it helps.

Using your phone as a modem (tethering)

Get online with your notebook or desktop computer at any time, using your phone’s data connection. For information on setting up and using the data connection, see Data connection.

* You need to install HTC Sync before you can use your phone as a modem. Refer to Using HTC Sync for details.
* You need a SIM card installed on your phone.

1. Make sure your phone’s data connection is turned on. See Data connection to learn how to turn on the phone’s data connection.
2. Connect the phone to the computer using the provided USB cable.
3. On the Connect to PC screen, select Internet sharing, and then tap Done.

Note: When you are using your phone as a modem, the USB mass storage feature is disabled, and you are also not able to use HTC Sync.

Thanks for the prompt reply. However, I want the other way around, actually. My computer has internet access, and I want my phone to be able to access the internet when it is connected to the computer.

The solution you posted is if my Legend has internet (data connection) and I want to connect my computer to the internet, which is not what I am looking for.

Thanks, though. I really appreciate it. :)

i have race shield for my samsung jet before and i believe it will be the last time touching full body shield..easy dirty..lots of dust..falls off after 2 to 3 months..especially those small areas and sides.protects the whole phone but not lasting IMO.

the case doesnt bulk up too much and it will protect from drops etc etc.under $20 for full protection and a peace of mind.worth it..

i'm using handcent sms now. it's so much better than the default sms app.
got to setting-> notification setting-> vibrate-> always/never/only when device is set to vibrate mode.

if i'm not wrong, vibrate is similar to silent, but it only vibrates when there's incoming call or sms. while silent is without vibrate, u wouldn't know if there's incoming call or sms.

actually htc is also very new to me. this is my 2nd day using it.

OIC. The only way I can think of is to turn your office computer into a wifi hotspot, then use your phone wifi to connect to it.

If your office computer does not have wifi built-in, you can use a USB dongle too.

As for the detail instruction, try google, I guess. For example, using the keywords "windows become wifi hotspot" it shows method for Win7 in the first result:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...me+wifi+hotspot&aq=f&aqi=m1&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=

Hope it helps.
