An easier explanation of S-OFF

Found another explanation, which is much easier to understand

Link: http://www.incredibleforum.com/foru...-discussion/5887-droid-phone-definitions.html

S-On/Off is a security level. With the security flag off, HBOOT will no longer check signatures of images allowing for the flashing of unsigned recovery, radios, hboot, etc. It also unlocks the NAND protection, basically allowing you to have read/write access to previously locked paritions (ie. system) which can now be written to while the phone is booted.

Bro foosoomin,

The TS at XDA dev has replied your question, as I suspected the overlay mod is different from S-OFF, I think it's just to enable some read write access :)

Just to tell you, that my battery is left about 46% after one full day use, till now

It seems that my battery "warm up" stage is over

Did you mean that you are getting bored of your phone? =:p

No, my phone is so new, going to become 3 weeks old only

What i mean is maybe the battery is strong, or maybe my usage lesser for today

Good luck bro, hope you can reach the speed... Make sure do it in air-con room (help to stabilize), at least try to get the Quadrant score :s13:
==================================================================

Any of you guys interested in removing those system apps that probably you won't used?

So far I've removed a lot of them, such as DevTools, Calculator (installed realcalc so this is not needed), CMStats, VoiceDialer, VoiceSearch, etc etc... Now my phone is quite slim liao :o

If you are interested, follow this simple tutorial at Modaco forum
http://android.modaco.com/content/h...apps-from-the-htc-desire-with-adb-in-windows/

Please make a full backup before trying and read the thread carefully so that you don't remove essential apps that is required to run the phone :s13:

It's not possible due to hardware limitation (processor), to my understanding the program was made to run only on ARMv7 processor (i.e. Desire) and at least Android 2.2. Yes we have rooted and run custom ROMs based on 2.2.1 but too bad our Legend CPU is only ARMv6 architecture :o

Hello brother,

Thank you for providing this link, i have read it...It's quite simple to understand. All we need is to learn how to use the adb command in MS-DOS mode

I'll uninstall some useless apps after i install V29 Nightly Build tonight

Thank you very much

Thanks for the link bro, I will play safe and see the response in XDA forum first. Since I have spent time modifying/trimming down my current nightly build 26 ROM :p

im using v29 now, titanium restoring now. previously when using v26, i can't titanium restore all at 1 go. but now i can. still dunno what is the difference between v26 and v29 rom as of now.
