Have u own the 2012 one before? ASUS didn't officially bring in 2013 right? I'm having this crazy idea of getting it but if i wanna use Office or surf on it, i'm afraid it would be a bit laggy.

i got the 2012 and 2013 before but i sold the 2012 already.

laggy? i'm on android 6.0 and this thing puts many higher priced tablets to shame in terms of speed.

Not 2013. I'm using 2012 and the lag is nothing i've ever seen before, i think it's considered freezing. Read that ASUS used inferior internal storage to cut cost. My tablet has hardly anything also very laggy. That's why i'm thinking of getting 2013, just that while navigation wise i feel it's definitely smooth cos even my 2012 when i swipe between screen and all is smooth but when need to load things the lag happen. In fact, i was surprise there was no class suit against them or Google in US.

To the point now i refuse to buy anything from ASUS cos besides their GPU and mobo, everything else they make seems to suck.

Finally, someone speaks the truth! My exact sentiments!

No brand is best for every type of product. I mean, would you buy a Samsung camera :s13:?

Not really but i would go for Sony and Samsung 2nd choice but depending on many factors. I think Pro wouldn't go for Samsung. Sometimes also depending on after sales service bah. Like laptop wise i always go for Dell cos their after sales is good and they normally don't install bloats.

Sad but true, Apple excel in this aspect.

Most of the lag in old nexus 7 2012 is due to the flash somehow requiring fstrim...

Agree.. Suppose there will be no updates after this year. Usually, the update last for 2 years after launch.

Actually the 2 things for Android, battery life and performance was the on-going Achilles heels. Marshmallow and Android N should solved and refined them by this year. While it's nice to have updates, i feel that as long as it works well with good battery life, that's the point of getting a device, one that works reliably.

Like my iPod Touch, i wish it stayed at iOS 6 cos that to me, was the best version for it. Even my N7 2012 works ok if i dun install too many things.

Mobile phone is a bit different cos it's practically a 24/7 device and heavily utilized with content creation (well if you are a heavy all-feature user). Tablet is really only cos of the screen size since no one really use it to take photos or care about how much more powerful it is unless you create content very often.

That being said, is Nexus 9 powerful? Like comparing to Nexus 7 2013 for those who owned both.

i wanna try Nexus 9 (currently i use a Nexus 7 2013 LTE), but i am afraid of the handling due to increased size and weight. i am a regular user, not a gamer.
