So glad to hear the battery life is measuring up to what the reviewers are saying!! I'm also interested in your experiences with the camera - especially its low-light capabilities and HDR Boost mode. Have seen some shots here and on Instagram that look great. I ask because I'm currently using a Nexus 6P, and adore the camera. Does the U11's live up to the hype?

Personally, I'm researching the U11 because I cracked the screen on my Nexus 6P a few days ago - it still works but it's quite unsightly and far more fragile now (don't think will survive another drop), so I may have to retire it to use as a back-up phone. At first was thinking of holding out for a Pixel or Pixel 2, but think I've talked myself out of it now 'cause the Pixel is so expensive and there won't be local servicing/support/warranty for a long time yet.

As a result, I'm in the market for a new phone and the U11 caught my eye ;) I was using an M8 before my Nexus 6P, and loved it (until the battery started dying). So I'm really glad to see all the good reviews for HTC's latest!

BTW, I think demand for the phone is pretty high! I walked by Red White Mobile on Monday night and popped in to see if there was a demo handset I could play with. They're sold out, and the people there made sure to let me know that the earlier price of $835 might change when new stock comes in (earliest Thursday). Oh dear, I hope the street price doesn't go up too much - but it might if the U11 is very popular!

Just got my phone and the camera is super stunning, esp in low light. Even better than my s8+ in image quality. But in terms of speed, s8 still faster to take the shot. There's a noticeable shutter lag in U11 in low light.

I bought TGSP from taobao, but doesn't seem to work (both full coverage and normal) Few issues, sides cannot stick and hence become white. There are a few spots on the screen where the glass cannot stick - also bubbles. Even the liquid they provide doesn't work.

This is probably due to the glass not being perfectly flat, can be proven by looking at screen as a mirror and moving your head. There is a little distortion.

Wasted 2 TGSP already and I'll probably get those film that sticks by water. I still have 1 more if anybody wants to try.

U11 has a slight curved screen right? That could be why because tempered glass protectors in the market cannot bend properly according to the screens! Wait for spigen's film. Using one for my 10 and it's great.

Ya.. Regret even wanting to try TGSP after the bad experience on my LG G5. Shall buy a film now.

Any bro here tested if HTC U11 support MirroLink or Android Auto?

I called Starhub today to enquire on HTC U11. Was told not carrying it currently, only has HTC Ultra. Waiting for the agent to call me back after checking with their marketing team.

Yah please don't anyhow try USB cables because bad USB-C cables can potentially burn your phone out with bad cables.
My wife is using Huawei P9 and I looking forward to trade-in my Note 5 for this phone. Right now, I only have 1 Anker Type C cable at home. Was thinking, are those Micro USB -> USB Type C adapter advisable to use with U11 or any other Type C device ?

You can use those anker or asked brand USB c adapters, should be ok. I have still some good ones with the protection chip on it if you want. :)

Not all are good esp if you want to do higher power charging ie quick / fast charge too

But using adapter, don't forget your original USB (Micro USB) that you plan to use also has to be solid. original Samsung, Huawei, BlackBerry, HTC cables should be ok.

Avoid remax brand like plague. There are so many fakes out there and original one may not last long either. They aren't exactly certified either for the USB c standard.

Thanks for the advise. My home charger and cables are mostly from Anker. Not marketing their product here, but can say are really good. What brand of USB C Adapters are there in the market ? Cos I see no point to change out all my micro USB to Type C and that will cost alot. Would be cheaper if using those adapters.

Drop me a pm/email?

Yes anker is solid. Aukey is nothing bad too. But for charger I find that Aukey don't work the best with powerbank though :/ but phones it's great esp for the price.

There are many. Anker, choetech, techmatte to name a few.
