Funnily I just checked with m1 on Facebook and they said yes leh.

That's good, we may be able to use that statement and request them to turn on the support. If VoLTE is enabled, we will be able to toggle the settings under "Enhanced Call Settings" from "Call Settings". See example of a user using T-Mobile from XDA:

Another way to confirm if it has VoLTE enabled is to look at your 4G logo if it drops to H or anything else during a call.

All three telcos don't have HTC listed in their VoLTE support, hopefully they'll update the list and support soon

That is weird. Mine shows the VOLTE icon but did not really pay attention if it goes off if network changes to 3G or H. Will observe and update back here.

I have the VOLTE option under my SIM settings.

My wife is using Huawei P9 and I looking forward to trade-in my Note 5 for this phone. Right now, I only have 1 Anker Type C cable at home. Was thinking, are those Micro USB -> USB Type C adapter advisable to use with U11 or any other Type C device ?

Do not buy Anker or Aukey branded USB C products. They are notorious for bad USB C products. You can look at the list from Benson Leung and Nathan K who reviewed the cables and adaptors.

Locally, you can buy on Qoo10 a brand called Tronsmart. They are one of the few who indicates the use of the 56k resistor on their cables and their cables have been reviewed to be 5 stars rating on amazon by either Nathan K or Benson Leung.

Yes, Anker used to be good but they have difficulty producing good USB C products ATM.

I will avoid Choetech or TechMate as well. USB C is still not stable but Tronsmart is the only reliable brand.

I have a Choetech 5/6 ports charger with QC 3.0, sometimes the QC works, sometimes it doesn't after testing different cable. Plus they have a shabby practice of not indicating the 56k resistor for USB C cable but seller here says supplier told him has 56k resistor.

TechMatte from the same seller for Choetech, so I wouldn't buy here.

The issue stems mainly from the confusion between QC and USB c standard. Cables may meet QC not USB c and vice versa. Lol.

Tronsmart also fell victim, like anker and aukey, and they all have already released revision updates sincsince 2016, and anker even took the responsibility to recall them for the non compliance.

Personally using the BlackBerry QC and Samsung fast chargers though. As mentioned the aukey charger, doesn't work the best with powerbanks but seems fine with phones.

This one is the USB committee fault really, not clear with their documentation from what I heard.

Pardon me but looks like you have no idea what you are talking about.

I have Tronsmart, Aukey and Choetech chargers and cables since last year for my various devices. They are on par, neither is better or reliable than any other.

If you think whatever Benson Leung said is the bible, then you shouldn't even use Qualcomm QC standard as anything more than 2.4A or 5V from USB A port is illegal! only USB-C port can transmit 3A of current and 5V, beyond that, only USB PD.

The only purpose of 56K resistor is to limit the current to 2.4A. Surely that Benson Leung is more knowledgeable than me in USB standard but how many burn or defective products cause by quality USB cable from reputable brands like the above mentioned had been reported on the web? Amazon is a good place to find these, if there are, you can be sure those American will file a class action suit to sue them.

Current is drawn by device, the charger can never force more current than the device requested, Voltage is another thing. Its true that lousy throw away cable can overheat and burn itself, as others had mentioned, use quality cable and common sense. don't try to use non USB-PD certified cable to try to charge laptop that call for 20V/3A = 60W!

Read Chinese chongdiantou website for real product test and user feedback.
