Don't think GSMArena is particularly accurate. YouTube reviewer "hightechtraveller" disputes this. Also, several hands on reviews say that the screen is good under sunlight. Perhaps the review unit is a lemon haha.

Also, didn't GSMArena mentioned this too on its review page?
Memory: 4GB RAM/64GB storage in base model (6GB/128GB in select markets)
Please GSMArena, don't get out hopes up again just to crash it!
Then again, if the same formula that applies to the U11 is ALSO applied to the U11+, we're in for a real fight against Google Pixel 2 XL that has already been here or a while now, and even the LG V30+ which would likely be selling by then. Although I would also be willing to wait a little longer for the Translucent Black option to be made available (since it isn't going to be in Solar Red).

Well, an update from Msia side. SIRIM have approve the u11+ in Msia. Here is the article quoted :https://www.soyacincau.com/2017/11/30/the-htc-u11-might-be-coming-to-malaysia-very-soon/

I think launching in Msia will be just a week or 2 weeks time. An bro have the news from Sg?

Okay, just to add to this. The model approved by SIRIM in Malaysia is '2Q4D100' and it's confirmed to be the 6GB/128GB Model with Dual SIM configuration. Since both Malaysia and Singapore got the SAME U11 Model previously ('2PZC300' with 6GB/128GB config). Don't be surprised if an IMDA-approved U11+ (should it happen) might also have the SAME model number as the one approved by SIRIM across the Causeway, raising hopes of the same 9 countries that got the bigger memory edition of U11 previously to also get the 6-inch counterpart with the same memory specs. Let's hope the IMDA-TLS system gets updated for the device registration soon...

Not a good sign. It might only available next year. No chance before Christmas.

Well, even if HTC does release the U11+ within the next few weeks, like in Malaysia, it could only be either Ceramic Black or Amazing Silver. If you still like what many reviewers called the "best" colour variation: Translucent Black (the one where you can see the NFC Coil underneath the chassis), this is something of a Q1 2018 release.

If it takes next year to get the U11+ in Translucent Black, I personally would be willing to wait for that since my current phone has some months of warranty left. But if you can't wait that long, you may have to settle for the other two "opaque" colours instead.

Also, if you missed the review on GSMArena (yes, they kind of not like the battery efficiency actually), there's a section on the User Interface of the U11+ that'll favour serial (habitual) customizers who simply loves to "custom" every single feature on the phone. Simply said, if you simply HATE conformist tech and features, this may appeal to you: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_u11_plus-review-1690p4.php

Wa Sian why they want to release the translucent color only next year though. By that time likely will have a new chip then u11 will be "outdated"

Well, if that's what it takes to iron out a number of issues with its smaller sibling (U11) which quite a number of owners reported problems with and had their devices sent for repair (mainly touchscreen, battery and charging port issues) and wrote about that on the U11 thread in this forum. That device sold here is still running on Android Nougat though as Singapore users of the device have yet to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo OS (which HTC has said will deliver for global users of U11 as an update together with the updated SenseUI, something that comes with U11+ out-of-box), with Vietnamese Users of the U11 the first in ASEAN to get the Oreo Update as of writing. Hopefully when the U11+ does launch here (either end of year or next year if it ever does) there won't be such hardware issues cropping up on it as it has on the Nougat-loaded U11.

Let's surely hope we don't end up like the United States, they aren't even getting the U11+ launched there at all, although they got the 5.2-inch U11 Life (Android One) instead.

HTC probably do not want to compete directly with Google's Pixel 2 (made by HTC) and Pixel 2 XL in US. Do remember u11 plus was supposed to be Pixel 2 XL, before Google switch to LG and also bought over half of HTC's R&D team.

Htc is not doing great financially. Wonder if there will be a u12 next year. :s11:

Just a tiny correction. Both HTC and LG submitted prototype designs for Pixel 2 XL (under 'Muskie' for HTC and 'Taimen' for LG), but Google chose 'Taimen' for its final design. 'Muskie' prototype originally had a battery advantage (3,830mAh) compared to the final Pixel 2 XL which has 3,520mAh. And as such, the U11+ literally contains designs and parts previously used for their Pixel 2 XL prototype 'Muskie' (with a larger battery than the prototype). The buying over of half of HTC's Mobile Device Development Team is likely due to the work HTC did for the smaller Pixel 2 (note that the 2k employees that Google took from HTC under the deal have been working on the HTC-made Pixel 2 previously, making them Google Employees with HTC's technical development expertise) that wasn't sold here in SG, hence the U11 kind of fills that void here.
In a nutshell, U11+ = 'Revenge of the Muskies'...:s22:
Some reading: Decision to not sell U11+ in US results in Import Queries for Non-US Models of said phablet.
And this for the still-skeptical: HTC U11+ Was Originally the HTC-Made Google Pixel 2 XL (Muskie)

HTC U11+ is listed on the IMDA-TLS Database. Any chances it will come by end Dec?

Looks the the best bet is this: Infocomm Media Development Authority: Telecom Licensing System (IMDA-TLS) Database (NOTE THAT All Mobile Phones to be used in Singapore MUST BE REGISTERED into this IMDA-TLS database in order for it to be used with a Singapore Telco SIM Card). Malaysia's equivalent would be Scientific and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) Database for the curious and works the same way for Malaysian Mobile Phones.
*** WARNING: GEEK ZONE***
Right now, the 5.5-inch HTC U11 is registered both in IMDA-TLS and SIRIM (under model '2PZC300'). So the next step is to see if U11+'s model number will be logged on both databases once it is approved (FYI: Model Number for U11+ are designated '2Q3Fxxx' compared to U11's '2PZCxxx' model number designation, source for this info.), hence the wait for it would be to have the unit registered into the database FIRST before we can see signs of an impending release, hopefully soon... and judging from the appearance of the U11+'s pages in many of the HTC sub-sites including SG's own, chances are that the device may already be under IMDA Registration here and awaiting approval before sales dates can be cemented down, or sometimes not at all (like LG's V30 (H930) which failed and ended up not being registered into the IMDA-TLS database, hence the registration of the device H930DS, which happens to be the V30+ that can have its release confirmed).

Thanks for sharing, U11+ has been confirmed today to be approved for use in SG's Telco bands following the certification. And the model is the same as Malaysia version as well (2Q4D100). So it will be a matter of time before more info is out on possible sales date... But I won't expect the Translucent Black to be part of the lineup yet...

I bought mine from taobao, shipped via ezbuy. It's the hk set, so it comes with the Singapore type charger. Translucent black color. Working well with singtel postpaid plan since 13 Dec.
