Huawei Honor U8860 non camera Users come in

hi all, intending to root my huawei ics as its quite laggy. its my first time so I have a few thing to check.

1) First i need to root my phone, just download this tool xda-developers - View Single Post - Huawei U8860 Honor / Honour / Glory - Index from within this URL to root it.

2) Then follow all the steps here correct? MIUI Official Community

Sry, its my first time rooting an android phone haha.. want to use this as a test phone

Okay i have rooted successfully and verified that rooting is a success.

From what I read, most of the ROMs are for the camera honor? Will it have a problem when we flash our non-cam to those ROMs?

Shouldn't be. I did before. No harm.

The camera app will just show up but will give an error msg if u try to activate it. Rather obvious as there is no camera to be activated.

End of day.. won't harm anything

tried to do the MIUI rom then says update failed. so downloaded some shuaime software and not, my phone got this image verification failed thing. i cant enter home screen at all. when power up with both volume buttons pressed, only get pink screen. connect to computer, cant detect usb. any recourse?

any help is much appreciated.

Hmmm... I followed the Xiaomi MIUI rom guide to the letter. No problem.
The only difference I did was at "Replacing Recovery" step 3. Instead of holding down the VOLUME DOWN and VOLUME UP buttons, I held down Volume up and power buttons.

Perhaps u may want to retry.

While it looks pretty amazing, running MIUI only leaves you with little ram left.
I would prefer rom like slimbean/beanstalk that are really light on ram.

hi lilitmus, i follow Imperado's post #1221 using the shadowandy method. cant exactly recall the steps i took but i tink you read thru the first 2 url and then do some trial and error.
