im quite sure huawei honor is getting more and more popular, so much so that they're replacing the current bb and the guards may most likely let people bring them in even without a msd sticker.

What im afraid of is that i will be posted to information sensitive areas cause my friend s told me that clerks handle sensitive information and thus is harder to get MSD approval

And how long will it take to get the MSD sticker? Estimated

Trying to go through the posts but cant find an asnwer

how is it difficult to get the sticker? this phone has been approved by mindef as a non camera phone. so regardless how sensitive it is, the phone is certified as non cam, so they MUST give you a MSD sticker. the only question will be how long will it take for them to process the admin stuff for your sticker.

So what is the process like? Do I have to leave the phone with them for the whole time when they process or i get to bring the phone back while they process?

Cause i saw a user, post that even if its approved it is still up to the USO to approve and give you the sticker and he is not obliged to have to give the sticker if the unit has issues with cam removed phone.

How long did you wait for you to get your sticker, kingsfall?

Sorry for the qns scared later no phone to use while they process the sticker

For my Process:
Check whether your USO got the sticker.
Fill up the Form. (Printed it myself, otherwise you must get the admin to do it)
Submit the form with the necessary receipt and certificate.
If USO approve, Get the sticker!

Not sure about how other unit process works.

i doubt they'll have issues with the cam removed phone cause apparently the huawei cso made an announcement that they've talked things through with mindef already. i havent got my sticker yet. what ive heard from my friend is that you'll need to produce the telco recipt for the non cam phone with the imei number on the paper. then the USO will look at the imei number of your phone to make sure that it coincides before giving you the msd sticker. it is not known how long this process will take. waiting time varies from unit to unit.

but while you're waiting, i think you can tell the pdf that its been approved and you're just waiting for the sticker :D

I was reading earlier post and notice someone actually mention that there is a new directive that for huawei and LG, there is no need for telco receipt. so can buy from any phone shop.

Ive called the camps and they seem to be unsure of the directive itself, they still say that it has to be from the 3 telcos itself if not it would be invalid.

They even said although camera phones are allowed they are still stopping people from bringingncam phones.

i've read the paper, and it did not mention that you need to show the telco receipt, only states that you need to show the telco certification letter (which also include huawei and LG) and you phone to the USO

Think they anyhow one... Not really setting a clear statement across all channels.

The guy i spoke to told me manufacturer certification which is included in the huawei box will be rejected if its not a telco certified

take for example you buy from green, they give you a receipt that say non cam, however the certification letter comes from huawei. so which will you use, receipt or certification letter?

I just got my sticker yesterday at Tower A. Basically you just need the cert, they dont need any receipt but just compare the imei on the cert versus the phone.
