Just got to play with the Mate 10 and got to agree with some of the initial impressions here -phone looks and feels underwhelming. It feels a little plasticky and not to the high build quality of the mate 9 or P10 series. Phone feels warm and UI seems rather sluggish too. Screen seems a bit washed out. Another observation is that the selfie cam now no longer has autofocus.
Quite surprising... Will check out the shops if I get the chance to...

it's best to see for yourself. hard to differentiate between online reviews and forums where you don't know who is actually hired to post +ve/-ve comments in a bid to influence consumers.

or just fan boys/girls trying to up/down the phone based on their biased views.

Better take those people words with a pinch of salt.. or they are from some competitor brands trying to say bad things about Huawei products..

Go and see it for yourself and not just a few minutes playing around with the phone. :D

How come the online youtube reviews all tell a different story :(

maumu is right. head down to your nearest best. i think they shud already have demo set.

i didnt get to play much with it as when im holding it, it just left like 5% battery.

first impression
1. The glass back is very sticky with alot of fingerprint
2. its very warm. and when the phone off by itself due to battery depleted..the on button is very hot
3. UI is sluggish and laggy. just pull up for apps and its like stuttering
4. camera didnt have the object recognition icon. probably need some setting. camera movement is kinda laggy too

probably drop by again 2moro to do some in depth molest :s22:

Mate 10 performs worst than Mate 9 just doesn't make sense. I will reserve judgement until more people got their hands on it.

It's normal to feel a bit warm when it is charging (it is high current SuperCharge BTW).
Mate 10 is using 10nm Kirin 970, definately cooler than the older 14nm Kirin 960.

The freebies doesn't look good.. how often do we connect the phone and watch shows or do proper work on It? Not me...

I rather have extra fast chargers or car chargers. More useful for me.

Dxomark is just a subjective benchmark, and there are many criticisms of it including "it doesn't take the Huawei's excellent monochrome into consideration" , but having a high dxo doesn't hurt as many people would just oversimplistically judge photography according to one number.

"Today DxOMark gave the Huawei Mate 10 Pro an overall rating of 97 – a single point lower than the Pixel 2. The Mate 10 Pro actually exceeds the Pixel 2 when it comes to photo sub-score, touting a 100 to the Pixel 2’s 99."

When battery is low, the battery saving mode might be on, and the processor reduced to save power. Hence the sluggishness.

Played with an Mate 10 demo set. Somehow the software felt very laggy. Maybe its not optimized or too much unnecessary bloatware.

I kinda like the look and feel of it. The back looks classy, and 888 SGD is quite reasonable compared to other flagships.

Gotta try how the audio sounds like via the headphone jack....spoilt by the sound quality of G6. Also the lack of IP67/8 is a bummer.

Think supercharge is disable in those demo unit.

tried it today also at Courts causeway point.

yes it was abit warm but i don't think this is a big issue for me. plus, the demo set firmware is probably not the final build. normally, when deciding to buy a phone, i just test it physically and that's it.

*edit: we can put to rest about the warm. there's a fix to this already.

there's no difference for me holding that and my mate 9 side by side. screen was definitely better but having used iphone 8, and s7 edge before this, the difference is not really that important to me. the battery life benefits from this.

camera wise, can't really tell from indoors. Mate is known for learning your habits and being faster over time, so demo sets aren't a true gauge of this.

*edit: you can see from the picture that it's not super charging and the battery is only 21%.

Mate 10 Pro selling in China Nov 15.

Singapore's Mate 10 retail price is ~$100 more than China's price so the 128GB Pro variant selling here should be $1188.

Mate10 4 Gb+ 64 GB 3899 yuán
Mate10 Pro 6 Gb+ 128 GB 5399 yuán
Mate10 Pro 6 Gb+ 64 GB 4899 yuán
Mate10 Porsche Design 6GB+256GB 8999元

This is official price at Huawei store in Shanghai.

you can easily find the specs here.
https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_mate_10-8877.php

HSPA 42.2/5.76 Mbps, LTE-A (3CA) Cat18 1200/150 Mbps

And it is HW proprietary super charging with its own charger+cable, not Qualcomm since it is a HW Kirin CPU.

There is some different between pro and non pro version.
Cat18 for pro version
Cat16 for non pro version
So I believe LTE band coverage is also different just like p9 vs p9 plus.
Last time almost get miss lead by promoter.
Even NFC is different for p9 as p9 pro day as p9 do not have it and p9+ have it.

https://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_mate_10_pro_porsche-review-1669.php

Suggest to look at local spec before purchase.

i didn't manage to match the brightness with my Mate 9 but the Mate 10 i felt was a bit sharper. but then again, screen is not my top priority for a phone :)

I'm gonna change my current S8+ phone to either Huawei Mate 10 Pro or LG V30.

Can't wait... 😍
