Actually on the contrary, this kind of photos are challenging to get good results regardless of camera. Indoors, insufficient lighting, moving subjects.

Outdoors, bright, static objects are easier for fone cameras.

Try to read up on tips using fone cameras might help. Tap to focus is one.

:) I don't really use the pro mode in fone camera, tried it but think in the fone it is really still software driven so impact is not as great as say a normal digital cam. U don't read a lot of articles on the internet advising you to use the pro mode either.

That being said, fone cams have come leaps and bounds in past few years and I sure it will get even better with software enhancements. Just read the Xiaomi thread where a straightforward software module hack to use the Google cam can have an immediate huge impact on the existing weak fone cam. Just that I'm not too fond of rooting to install the module.

Glad that Huawei has dedicated quite a bit of resources to it's cam optics and software.

Hope the new update to Oreo can at least solve the low light issue. If not will just use my second phone S7 to take pictures as it's better.

Doubt there's much more it can do. S7 has a F1.7 lens so optically it will always be brighter, and Samsung has always been good with camera fones... at a price. Even then, it will struggle if the subject is not stationary.

So depends on what you frequently take pic of. If kids running around indoors, no fone cam can take proper pics. Switch to video mode as an option to capture the moment. Else, bring along a proper camera if u know in advance that you are going for a concert etc.

There is nothing ridiculous about the price. It is still cheaper than Samsung/Apple's flagship phones while having same or better specs.

cheaper than samsung and apple doesnt mean its not ridiculous.

but that kind of pricing is the trend now. equivalent to 1 laptop/pc. ppl still will buy though
