Disappointed. De-Goggle yourself. You don't need Google anymore.
I only need cashless payment for transport. That’s all I want. But Huawei wallet doesn’t work. Anyway I bought p50 pro for my mum. So far so good after a year

Its more like the hassle if new problems crop up due to GMS.
So more inclined to safer options.
Cheers
If you still need GMS. Why not just get a Android phone?
Is a matter of time GMS will further patch up to stop Huawei from using it.

Same here, but seems like local bank not willing to support Huawei Wallet / Huawei Pay.

Written in to Citibank and DBS previously and their reply was that there isn't any plan at the moment.

Thanks bro. My exact sentiments but its the choice selection that is a big headache. Looking for another tough workhorse to last many years. May have to go back to Samsung if nothing comparable out there.

Huawei is now working on HarmonyOS NEXT which doesn't use Android libraries and it can't open Android APKs.

This phone definitely has the fullest potential to be a Samsung and iPhone killer. Pity that they are banned from accessing GMS, which was done to stop Huawei's growing influence and dominance.
Would anyone using Huawei new phones care to comment on whether its a big hindrance to own one, in view of all apps in sg?
Quite keen to get this over honor magic 5 pro but not a techie whiz. Thank you in advance.
Have been running between HK/CN/SG for a bit using the P50pro 888 CN version for a while with HK/CN apps, I have an iphone for SG so i cant say for an SG user. No problem here except some apps i cant use like HSBC Payme (HK ver of DBS Paylah), but Gbox has served me well for most of the GMS required apps (dont trust GBox for banking apps) like YUU HK, McD HK or even KMB bus app. CN apps i have absolutely no issues. Warm a little but HOS 3 is very aggressive in killing background apps so things are generally alright.

I use revanced for youtube and the only google app i need to run from gbox is gmaps. I use gmail IMAP to outlook app and my contacts are all on my outlook (including my iphone).

probably because they can run lighthouse for GMS
Wondering why Lighthouse was released on Malaysia Huawei App Gallery only?

And having Lighthouse installed doesn't means all GMS apps will work, only some...

Is it due to bank or visa/mastercard?

Think this is Bank's decision, doesn't matter if it is Visa or Mastercard.

Just like why there is official Citibank app for Malaysia but not for Singapore...

Thanks bro for the suggestion. Never keen or used an Apple before but might consider Oppo. Only reason for not choosing Oppo is because the pricing is almost equivalent to Samsung. But if its better, might seriously consider it. Thanks and cheers.

If the performance is between 888 and 8Gen1. Then not really worth it. As the flagship standard is 8Gen2. And 8Gen 3 is around the corner by end 2023.

But good to know Huawei has managed to overcome the odds. Hopefully the next version of P and mate would be the next Sammy killer...
