hi! im new to huawei but am contemplating getting the mate9. will be my first huawei handset and thus have a few questions for all the laojiaos here:

1) does huawei handsets come with 1 year or 2 year warranty?
2) the huawei mate9 uses nanosim right?
3) is the mate9 able to install and run apks?
4) has anyone jailbroken the phone?

thank you!

On the last point (since another has replied you on the others), you don't really need to "jail break" or root an Android phone if you don't need to. Depends on what you want to do actually - since you seem new to Android, why not list down what you want to do before you root it?

Android itself is already quite an open system and I have been using Android since HTC Hero days (and I have never used iPhone, nor will I ever) and never felt the need to root them.

Hi people,

I remembered reading about delay in receiving WA msgs. Was it due to twin app being activated?

I can't seem to find that post in here.

Additionally, my FB app does not seem to show the number of notification.

Please help/advise.
Hi,

Can anybody assist please?

Just follow the heads up.

For those of us who used an overseas SIM card to update to B136, when you refresh the updater, it will show no update available.

This could be due to no partial package available for updating from B136 to B138.

However, if you select the 3 dots on top right cover and select "Download latest full package", you will be able to see the update appearing:

You must be switching from iPhone lol

1) 2 years for handset, 1 year for the screen.
2) Yes only uses nanosim
3) All Android phones can enable the installation of apk via settings as it is disabled by default.
4) Jailbreak is for iPhone. For Android, we call it Root. You can Google for the method.

sorry - yes i was referring to root, sorry for the wrong use of word. Actually i have always been an android user and always rooted my phones and tablets, but they have all been samsungs so im very new to huawei.

just an additional question on the huawei mate 9 - can I charge it using any micro-usb chargers? (eg. xiaomi charger or samsung charger) or do I need to only buy chargers from huawei? i thought i read somewhere about it being proprietary so thought i would just ask again.

thanks so much for all the replies, greatly appreciated!

Original mate 9 stock cable have a purple color on the connector. if you are not having that cable means it possibly been swapped out accidentally?

Yes, you can pause the download, took me nearly two hours.

Used my Celcom sim card to initiate the firmware download, then return to Singtel sim, paused it as I was at work then download using wifi at home.

you manage to download when you got this message? Did you try KIV this download and install later?

Yes. You can use any other charger, but you won't be getting full 22.5W of charging. It will be limited to whatever the charger can output which is usually <10W.
