Dear members,

Caught in the rain in the evening and seems like some moisture has entered my device =(

Soaking it in rice as I am typing this post.

I didn't really bother about getting wet because my phone was in my bag but seems like the water went through my bag material and my phone started behaving strangely after awhile.

Sad to say that after reading the terms and condition of Huawei's Warranty, water damages is out of the coverage.

Anyone knows where else can i purchase a Mate 9 at a discounted price ?
Cheapest i saw online is $755 @ Mobilesquare.

I am stuck in a lock screen i have never seen before.

Just wallpaper, and time, fingerprint sensor works and unlocks the phone but it still shows that one screen.

Charging port seems to be sot, have to keep plugging in and out for it to charge.

Sim card unable to get detected, have to keep trying before it works again.

Please switch off your phone and DO NOT DO anything to it for maybe two days. Better to use silica gels instead of rice which doesn't really do much in getting the phone dry.

The more you do when there's still moisture inside, more damage might be done.

Thanks for the advice guys, expensive lesson for me haha.

Brought it to the service center earlier, really good customer service.
Did some paperwork, handed over my phone, was provided a Ascend as a loan phone and received a call 1 hour after i left the service center.

Phone was dismantled and water damage found.
Quoted me the cost of repairs and replacement of parts OTP.

Haven had service like that before.

Thumbs up to Huawei :s12:

I just got this phone.

I tried to add more languages but realised that there was no Chinese in the options. It seems like Chinese is only available as the default keyboard language.

Is there anyway to make it such that English is the default and Chinese is the additional language?

I'm about to send my Mate 9 in for warranty as well. There's one region of the screen where touch completely stopped working. Like smack in the middle of the screen. Removed screen protector, still the same, enabled Show Touches from developer options to test. it's only 3 weeks old and this had to happen. Have been babying this phone like crazy, never touched till got screen protector and case, never dropped as well, never put inside bag also, only in dedicated right pocket, quite sore about this, especially if charges are gonna be incurred. Will report back.
